Q IS FOR QUEEN

For each letter of the A to Z, I'm going to give you a KEYWORD. You post in the comments a song with that word in the title. I will give you one to start (along with a video). If you like, you can go to YouTube and embed your video in the comments, so that readers can also listen to your song. No repeats and only post one song so that everyone can participate. If you're just brimming with songs, come back in a few days and lay it on me! If you want to see who else is participating in the A to Z click here.

You guys did great with yesterday's word: Please. Here are the songs you thought of with Please in the title:

Mary: Please Don't Leave Me by Pink and Please Come To Boston by Dave Loggins
Rosey: Baby Please Don't Go by Lightnin' Hopkins
Ericka: Please Come Home For Christmas by Bon Jovi
Andrea: Please Mr. Please by Olivia Newton John
Alex: Tease Me Please Me by Scorpions
Stephen T. McCarthy: Please Mr. Postman by The Carpenters
Pinku-Sensei: Please Take Me Home by Blink 182
Michele and Liza: Please Please Me by The Beatles
Michele: Baby Please Don't Go by Muddy Waters
Holli: Please by Staind
Mich: Love Please Come Home by Whiskey Shivers
Julie: Please Release Me by Englebert Humperdink
D.G. Hudson: Please Please Please by James Brown
JEN Garrett: Please and Thank You Song from Barney
Jeffrey: Please Go Home by The Rolling Stones
Arlee: Please Don't Go by KC and the Sunshine Band
Robin (yes, me again): Please Please Please Do Not Go by The Violent Femmes

If you can think of more songs from previous letters and WANT to post them now, feel free to go back and add them:)

It's a new day and a new letter!

What is the KEYWORD?

You can use variations. In this case, queens.

I THINK THIS WILL BE A TOUGHIE, AS PRETTY MUCH WOULD BE ANYTHING BEGINNING WITH "Q," SO ONE SONG ONLY TO START. YOU CAN COME BACK TOMORROW TO ADD...:)

I present to you....Queen of the Night by Whitney Houston. Some of you may remember it from her movie The Bodyguard. This was my favorite song on that soundtrack!

You can comment with a song or embed the video by copy/pasting the code in the search bar. Thanks for playing along!

Special thanks to Arlee Bird and the A to Z team who make this possible!

    2. Also, this sounds like it could be the title of a book by the Beer Boys. Hmmm.

    3. Well, since I've been participating in your daily song challenge, I try to go with the first song that comes to mind which in this instance was Dancing Queen and which was already taken. I started thinking, "Queen... Queen Been... King and Queen... King of Queens... Beauty Queen... and that's when I remembered that song. My mind works in strange ways sometimes. :)

I like the song you picked. That movie soundtrack was one of my faves.

    1. Well, it's not a precise sort of thing as the "cut-off" is pretty much whenever I'm exhausted and calling it a night. That changes daily. Of course, in the last week or so I've not been feeling so good, so it's been earlier rather than later. Glad you made it early today:)

  14. At first I was thinking that this would be a tough one, but then a song that I really like came to my mind almost immediately. This is one that I'm quite sure no one would think of, but the band that did this was one of my favorites of all time--The Incredible String Band. It's a long song, but here it is anyway. "The Queen of Love"--it's almost like a classical art song which is probably why I like it so well.

POSTSCRIPT: There's a famous "queen" song from 1959 that's still missing here. I'll bet John Holton brings it.

    2. Actually I don't remember this song by Traffic. I looked up the 1959 song but I don't remember that either. I do remember a great song of the same title by Gregg Allman. We'll see if anyone else comes up with either of these.
