It's a new day and a new letter!
What is the KEYWORD?
You can use variations. In this case, blues is also acceptable. I know said ONE song, but this one is ripe with possibilities, so I'll let you have THREE songs right out of the gate. Only embed one of them in the post, though, as it does make the page load more slowly. On Monday you can come back and add any that you've since thought of (and wished you'd chosen the first go-round).
I present to you... Tangled Up In Blue by Bob Dylan.
You can comment with a song using blue or blues or embed the video by copy/pasting the link you find in the SEARCH BAR. Thanks for playing along!
Special thanks to Arlee Bird and the A to Z team who make this possible!
Once in a BLUE Moon, by Van Morrison.

Van always sounds so smooth in all his songs! Good choice:)
DeleteNot a second's hesitation on this one:

Pretty song. New to me. Thanks for sharing!

DeleteRemake - Blue Monday by Orgy.

I also know a lot of Blue bands - Blue Oyster Cult, Blue Murder...
I liked this one Alex!

ReplyDeleteMy mom gives this one a Thumbs Up.
DeleteBehind Blue eyes by Limp Bizkit ( Not the original WhO)
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSJxdsnoPu4
Yep that's Halle Berry starring in video. I almost posted Blue Christmas by Elvis but will leave that for someone else....
DeleteHave you considered using this in a BoTB? I don't know if there are other covers that would create a good battle or not. Maybe it could even go head to head with the original. It's pretty good:)
DeleteGIRL WONDER ~
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this A2Z thang yer doin'!
OK, I'm giving ya two Blue songs. The first one is one of my very favorite songs by one of my very favorite Bluesmen...
'BIG CAR BLUES' by the great LIGHTNIN' HOPKINS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7LoI5H5lPI
And since Alex gave you 'Blue Monday', I'm going to give you 'BLUE SUNDAY', possibly the most beautiful song that Jim Morrison and THE DOORS ever recorded...
(Link...>>) 'BLUE SUNDAY' by The Doors
~ D-FensDogG
'Loyal American Underground'
As you likely suspected, both of these were new to me. The Doors song was really lovely. Sweet and simple. Pure maybe. Tender. I liked it.
DeleteThe Lightnin' Hopkins song made me laugh. It also made me think of this scene from an 80s movies that I think you'd like(???) called Adventures in Babysitting. I apologize for the lousy quality of this video, but sometimes YouTube doesn't give us exactly what we want.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXIVk_wsZEg
Ha!-Ha! That was pretty funny, ROBIN, and I can definitely see why Lightnin' reminded you of it. (Never seen that movie but have certainly heard of it many times.)
DeleteAnd, LOOK! That was Albert "The Iceman" Collins playing guitar and singing! Yep, I done recognized him.
Cleverness abounds!
~ D-FensDogG
I was going to say Midnight Blue by Lou Gramm, but then I remembered ELO has a song called Midnight Blue, too.

Love it! Thanks for sharing:)
Delete"Mamy Blue" by Los Pop Tops holds a special significance in my life's soundtrack. Couldn't find the English version on Youtube but here's one from Dailymotion:

No luck there. Oh well, here's the Spanish version:

Most days I find YouTube to be something of a blessing. I mean... what did we do before YouTube???? But, it can be frustrating when it simply does not have what you want!!!
DeleteI couldn't understand the words, but I get this is a very soulful song. I feel it. Thanks for posting!
Finally found an English Youtube version. It's cut off at the end, but better than nothing.
Deletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id2Te1cf_fE
Thanks for going that extra mile Debbie! Nice to hear it in English!
DeleteI love the song "Blue Skies" which has been sung by many famous people and there is even a film with Fred Astaire. I don't know how to imbed this so I won't but love that you picked blue since that is my favourite color
ReplyDeleteI know that song because I was in Concert Choir in high school. We sang that song one year. It's a great song. Very happy:)
DeleteApparently my recurring theme is "terrible 90s songs that never should have existed."

Two thoughts on this song...
Delete1) You really should incorporate a way to insert this into the comments over at The Blue Grumpster's blog. I mean this is HIS song, no???
2) I'm so glad you said something so I wouldn't have to, because--yes--you have fallen into a hole called "Bad 90s Songs." If you had that button they advertise on TV, someone could help you out. As it is... this could go on indefinitely...
Two thoughts of my own...
Delete1) I could do that, but I don't want Blue to never speak to me again.
2) You probably already know this, but for anyone watching me post these songs, these are NOT songs I like. I just wanted to post the weird/bad/offbeat songs that most people wouldn't think of.
3) Now that's kind of turned it into a challenge, hasn't it? "Bad 90s Songs." Okay, consider that my angle from now on. I'll try my damnedest.
4) I'm bad at counting.
LOVE THIS A2Z THEME!!!!!! Here's mine; hope it counts (someone posted the Limp Bizkit version, but—come ON!

Thanks for popping over to Life In Dogs ... glad you're enjoying the dog rescue series :)
This is a great song. Did you listen to the cover Holli posted? It's pretty good.

Deletevery cool- have a great weekend!
ReplyDelete"Blue on Blue," "Bluer Than Blue," and "My Blue Heaven."
ReplyDeleteI don't know any of those. If you come back, can you tell me who performed them???
DeleteI immediately think of Miles Davis Kind of Blue.
ReplyDeleteGood one Marcy!
DeleteMoody Blue by Elvis. I still think this one is about my wife.
ReplyDeleteHi Robin!
I'm so glad your wife doesn't read my blog. I don't think Mrs. Blue would like this thread...
DeleteOh I sing this son all the time....
DeleteMoody Blue by Elvis. I still think this one is about my wife.

ReplyDelete3 out of the gate, my first is George Strait. Love him.
DeleteSecond is Forever in Blue Jeans, Babe, Neil Diamond (my mom's fave) & Baby's Got her Blue Jeans on (Mel McDaniel...one title made me think of the other). I thought of more too, but you capped me at three. :)
I love Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On. So much so that I almost used it as MY video on this blog. ha!

I love the variety here! Thanks Mike!!!
DeleteBlue Monday by New Order as covered by Orkestra Obselete. Let's see if it autoembeds.
ReplyDeletehttps://youtu.be/cHLbaOLWjpc
I really like New Order... Listening to this takes me right back to the 80s, early 90s. I'd not heard this cover before, but I like it! There is a group of us that do Battle of the Bands. If it's okay with you, I think I'm going to hijack this cover for a future battle:)
DeletePlease do!
DeleteI've added it my list! Thank you:)
DeleteI love this idea! It took me a minute to decide which 'blue' song I wanted to share.. but I finally decided on this one:
