I think yesterday's word (Queen) was on the tough side. Even so, you guys did great with it. Here are the songs you thought of with Queen in the title:
Mike: Killer Queen by Queen
Mary (then Robyn, then Susan): Dancing Queen by Abba
Michele: Sign of the Gypsy Queen by April Wine
Ericka: Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars by Bon Jovi
Rosey: Caribbean Queen by Billy Ocean
Andrea: Queen of Hearts by Juice Newton
Stephen T. McCarthy: Queen of the Slipstream by Van Morrison
Jeffrey: Roller Derby Queen by Jim Croce
Pinku-Sensei: Queen of the Highway by The Doors
Holli: God Save The Queen by The Sex Pistols
Mich: Burger Queen by Placebo
Debbie the Doglady: Little Queen by Heart
Arlee: The Queen of Love by The Incredible String Band
JEN Garrett: Queens are Never Wrong by The Backyardigans
D.G. Hudson: Acid Queen by Tina Turner
LC: Queen of the Roller Derby by Leon Russell
CW: Katie Queen of Tennessee by The Apache Relay
If you can think of more songs from previous letters and WANT to post
them now, feel free to go back and add them:)
It's a new day and a new letter!
What is the KEYWORD?
You can use variations. In this case, rains, rained, raining, raindrops, rainy. Or anything with a base of rain. See my song, which uses rainfall. I think this will be SUPER DUPER EASY, so I'll give you three songs right from Go. For the sake of loading, only post one of them from YouTube and list the others. But, have fun, go crazy, and come back tomorrow to add more. I think there'll still be plenty out there.
I present to you.... Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall by Simon and Garfunkel.
You can comment with a song or embed the video by copy/pasting the code in the search bar. Thanks for playing along!
Special thanks to Arlee Bird and the A to Z team who make this possible!

#AtoZChallenge R is for Reba
Three variations on rain. Awesome!
Delete1. James Taylor Fire & Rain https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3uaXCJcRrE
ReplyDelete2. Rain Drops Keep Falling on My Head - BJ Thomas
3. Have you ever seen rain? Creedence
Mary already beat you to the BJ Thomas, but the other two are ON.
DeleteROSEY, thanks for thinkin' of 'FIRE & RAIN'. It hit the spot for me this mornin'.

Two good ones!
DeleteCredence is the best
DeleteOf course I almost made the obvious Prince mistake again! ;) Instead... I Love a Rainy Night - Eddie Rabbit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebt0BR5wHYs
ReplyDeleteWell, you could've just written that one out... hahahaha. But, it was kind of you to leave it for someone else.
DeleteI Love A Rainy Night. Hadn't heard that in forever!
OH MY GOSH! I just saw the news of prince's passing 😢
DeleteNow you'll know I must pick the great Gene Kelly singing , "Singing In The Rain" I don't know how to post the video here but it's priceless to see and famous
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w40ushYAaYA
Deletehttps://youtu.be/3qVPNONdF58
ReplyDeleteI didn't know I knew this until I started playing it. Then I knew it. Funny how that happens.
DeleteSuch a good song
DeleteMake it Rain by Ed Sheehan
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apegqCxBVDI
This I actually didn't know. For Ed Sheeran, this sounded edgy. I think every song I've heard from him has been on the mellow side. I liked this one (not that I don't like mellow songs... because I DO!).
DeleteI think he recorded it specifically for an episode of Sons of Anarchy. The scene was especially haunting and the song was the perfect touch. I don't think it's ever been released as a single. I just know it from having watched SOA.
Delete♥♥♥
DeleteThis will be easy for me. The song came immediately to me. It's one of my favourite songs.
ReplyDeletehttps://youtu.be/bDgOwX72fLI
I really like this song, too.
DeleteBeautiful and haunting song!
DeleteHere comes the rain- Eurythmics
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzFnYcIqj6I
I often find myself singing this one when it begins to rain. Go figure...
DeleteThe first three Rain songs I thought of were already in... But this is a good one ;)

Loving your A2Z, Robin! (And your awesome comments over at Life In Dogs ;) )
I really like this song, Guilie. I'm enjoying your posts over at Life in Dogs:)
DeleteI have several, but first, the best workout song of all time:

Slayer - "Raining Blood"
You don't know me well enough to know this, but I have chronic migraines. So, really hard music... well, it often just pounds in time with my head. I did try to listen to this one (I made it 1:08 seconds into it) before my migraine insisted I call it. But, I appreciate your thinking here...
DeleteYeah migraines and Slayer probably don't mix....
DeleteI actually thought of this one first, a one hit wonder from the 90's
ReplyDeletehttps://youtu.be/Kq-r4ZUpels
I didn't know I knew this one until I played it. Yep, I know it!
DeleteBeing in a later time zone I always come in late for this. I'm surprised that no one came up with the song that came into my head first--"Rain" by the Beatles:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lICpC2GoHjg
...invented MTV. hahahaha.
DeleteGIRL WONDER, I was absolutely sure that "R" was for Rain. And, wow, some really great songs listed above. I love "...A Rainy Night"! (Great call, Andrea!) And I love "singin' in the rain", too! (Good ol', Birgit! It was only right that she'd land THAT one.)
ReplyDeleteI debated back and forth between two Rain songs and finally decided to go with the wacky (weed) one. But I hope someone else posts my second choice later.
'RAINY DAY WOMEN #12 & 35' by Bob Dylan

~ D-FensDogG
'Loyal American Underground'
Whoops! The other rain song I was thinking of had already been listed... TWICE! ('Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head' - Brother Nappy loved that one when it was a big hit.)
Delete'FIRE AND RAIN' reminds me of a certain girl in my life who "died" (in a manner of speaking). The only song by James Taylor that I love.
And my girlfriend's "Rain" song got mentioned by someone other than me. How sunny!
~ D-FensDogG
I was absolutely sure that R was for Rain.
DeleteClearly my psychic powers are rubbing off on you.
This song always cracks me up, which is better than cracking me open... given the subject matter.
Lots of rain songs here! The only one that comes to mind this morning is Rainy Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down.

I'm such a country girl- the first song that comes to mind is "Rain is a good thing" by Luke Bryant.

He really is a one and only sort of fellow.
DeleteI'm actually pretty surprised that no one's mentioned Adele's Set Fire to the Rain. Because... how do you even go about doing that?
ReplyDeleteNo, that's not my entry. Not an Adele fan. You get my favorite Norwegian musician. Probably the only Norwegian musician I follow... but still my favorite. 10 points if you can pronounce his name.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ0vIWkksnM
I would pronounce it like this: sone (rhymes with French bon)-dray Lair-chay
Delete(The first minute)
Deletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5rAagvZhCw
So, I was *close* to the wrong version, and nowhere near the way Norwegians would say it.
DeleteLee and Stephen T. took my first two thoughts, and D.G Hudson got number three.
ReplyDeleteUnless I missed it, my number four is still available, so here 'tis.

Larry
One song? I have a while playlist of them here, but the one I'll say is Dee Clark's "Raindrops."
ReplyDeleteHe used to be the drummer in a really good band... hahahaha.

For my country side...
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEkQGa_O5tU
There was lots of help in this one. If I were kinder, I suppose I'd have posted it as my original offering. But I'm not, and you guys probably don't listen to it anyway... But, if you're still struggling this one will help you out. ;)
DeleteYou picked an eerily (almost morbidly) appropriate word for today, considering who died today and one of his most famous songs--"Purple Rain" by Prince. I'm surprised no one else used it.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8BMm6Jn6oU
Andrea referenced it, but didn't choose it. Sometimes this blog is funny like that. Yes, that was a bit of a shock. Very sad...
DeleteR.I.P. Prince ♥ What a shock! :(
DeleteHad to add this one - the Rains of Castamere, from the Game of Thrones Soundtrack

I can sort of play this on the upright bass with a bow...
A Lannister always pays his debts.
DeleteRunning two days behind with comments, sorry! I didn't see this one. Another "musical memory" song:
