If you can think of more songs from previous letters and WANT to post
them now, feel free to go back and add them:)
It's a new day and a new letter!
What is the KEYWORD?
You can use variations. In this case, queens.
I THINK THIS WILL BE A TOUGHIE, AS PRETTY MUCH WOULD BE ANYTHING BEGINNING WITH "Q," SO ONE SONG ONLY TO START. YOU CAN COME BACK TOMORROW TO ADD...:)
I present to you....Queen of the Night by Whitney Houston. Some of you may remember it from her movie The Bodyguard. This was my favorite song on that soundtrack!
You can comment with a song or embed the video by copy/pasting the code in the search bar. Thanks for playing along!
Special thanks to Arlee Bird and the A to Z team who make this possible!

ReplyDeleteThis is one of the first Queen songs I thought of, too.

Michele at Angels Bark
Not heard this one before. Good song.
DeleteHad to really dig deep for this one. An obscure, unreleased song from Bon Jovi - Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yk6HWa4opnQ
Should've known that if you were digging deep, you were hunting for Bon Jovi:)
DeleteAlso, this sounds like it could be the title of a book by the Beer Boys. Hmmm.
DeleteWell, since I've been participating in your daily song challenge, I try to go with the first song that comes to mind which in this instance was Dancing Queen and which was already taken. I started thinking, "Queen... Queen Been... King and Queen... King of Queens... Beauty Queen... and that's when I remembered that song. My mind works in strange ways sometimes. :)
DeleteCaribbean Queen - Billy Ocean
ReplyDeleteI like the song you picked. That movie soundtrack was one of my faves.

Oooh. I really like this one. Hadn't heard it in a long time!
DeletePhew! Thought I was stuck...Queen of Hearts by Juice Newton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0DK-0fIKCw
ReplyDeleteI almost used this one. You're welcome.
DeleteWe'll see. I don't think Q is all that tough, as I can think of several more just off the top of my mind, and they're more well known than...
ReplyDelete'QUEEN OF THE SLIPSTREAM' by Van Morrison

~ D-FensDogG
'Loyal American Underground'
Was this a popular song for them? I've not heard it before...
DeleteThis was a challenging one. But I thought of another one.
ReplyDeleteJim Croce - Roller Derby Queen
https://youtu.be/hD7UqK2GZko
I really love Jim Croce. Good choice.
Delete"Queen of the Highway" by The Doors.
ReplyDeleteThis was a hard one, but everyone is doing really well.
Delete::thumbs up::
GOD Save the Queen- Sex Pistols

I wonder who came up with this band name???
DeleteAnother fav from my high school years
ReplyDeletePlacebo - "Burger Queen"
https://youtu.be/SlTk0NzOF9s
Not sure what I was expecting with this unknown to me group/song, but it was way more mellow than I anticipated. Good mellow. Thanks!
DeleteMissed the cutoff yesterday, but posted anyway. I'm glad nobody chose this one yet:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQkQMpsmZhw
Well, it's not a precise sort of thing as the "cut-off" is pretty much whenever I'm exhausted and calling it a night. That changes daily. Of course, in the last week or so I've not been feeling so good, so it's been earlier rather than later. Glad you made it early today:)
DeleteOops, just seeing someone already posted this. But it's worthy of a repeat.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8O79uP0JmM
It is a good song:)
DeleteAt first I was thinking that this would be a tough one, but then a song that I really like came to my mind almost immediately. This is one that I'm quite sure no one would think of, but the band that did this was one of my favorites of all time--The Incredible String Band. It's a long song, but here it is anyway. "The Queen of Love"--it's almost like a classical art song which is probably why I like it so well.

Tossing It Out
Safe to say this was brand new to me. I listened to most of it (as you say, long song), and time has completely gotten away from me...

ReplyDeleteI deliberately left 'PEARLY QUEEN' by Traffic for you and you didn't even use it. See if I don't use it next year myself then! ;o)

POSTSCRIPT: There's a famous "queen" song from 1959 that's still missing here. I'll bet John Holton brings it.
Actually I don't remember this song by Traffic. I looked up the 1959 song but I don't remember that either. I do remember a great song of the same title by Gregg Allman. We'll see if anyone else comes up with either of these.
