O IS FOR OVER

For each letter of the A to Z, I'm going to give you a KEYWORD. You post in the comments a song with that word in the title. I will give you one to start (along with a video). If you like, you can go to YouTube and embed your video in the comments, so that readers can also listen to your song. No repeats and only post one song so that everyone can participate. If you're just brimming with songs, come back in a few days and lay it on me! If you want to see who else is participating in the A to Z click here.

Before I proceed with the list from yesterday, here's the health update: I still feel like junk. My best-laid plans of getting caught up on the blog ended up sacked out on the couch watching TV and napping. I can't say that I'm sick, but I'm not well either. I'm in that in-between place. I'll either recover or I'll be visiting the doctor. I'm voting for recovery. So, again (and still) my apologies for being less than my best self on this blog. If you want to vote on Battle of the Bands, go back one post to M is for Man.

You guys did great with yesterday's word: Night. Here are the songs you thought of with Night in the title:

Rosey: Lonely Is The Night by Billy Squier
Michele: Night Moves by Bob Seger and One of These Nights by The Eagles
Ericka: Stay The Night by Benjamin Orr
Pinku-Sensei: Dance The Night Away by Van Halen
Alex: Fly by Night by Rush
Andrea: Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting by Elton John
Debbie the Doglady: Nights in White Satin by The Moody Blues
HERE'S WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING, FOLKS. IF YOU WANT A CHUCKLE, READ THIS COMMENT THREAD.
Arlee: Night Train by Bruce Cockburn
Stephen T. McCarthy: Night Train by Rickie Lee Jones
Arlee: Night Train by Bill Black's Combo
Stephen T. McCarthy (who just departed from the Night theme altogether to catch a different Train): Last Train Home by Pat Metheny Group
ABFTS: Night Drive by Goyte
Birgit: Strangers In The Night by Frank Sinatra
Robyn: Saturday Night Fever by The Bee Gees
J Lenni Dorner: White Night Fantasy by Nightwish
CW: Night Rider by ELO
D.G. Hudson: Let's Spend The Night Together by The Rolling Stones
Sue: In The Still of the Night by Fred Parris and the Satins
Guilie: Because the Night by 10,000 Maniacs
LC: Night by Bruce Springsteen
Robin: (yes, me again): Ain't Even Done With The Night by John Mellencamp
and This Night by Billy Joel and Nightswimming by REM

If you can think of more songs from previous letters and WANT to post them now, feel free to go back and add them:)

It's a new day and a new letter!

What is the KEYWORD?

You can use variations. In this case, any word with over as a base (lots of possibilities!).

I present to you.... Harder Now That It's Over by Ryan (not Bryan) Adams.

You can comment with a song or embed the video by copy/pasting the code in the search bar. Thanks for playing along!

Special thanks to Arlee Bird and the A to Z team who make this possible!

    1. When I originally wrote this post, I used THIS song. I decided to change it out for something not so well known since I think this might give some folks trouble. And look at you picking it up on the second comment. ha!

    2. 'BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER'... DOH! Great song, and I wasn't even close to thinking of it.

My first thought was: Oh, I'll do 'OVER AND OVER' by Stephen Bishop. Then I got to YouTube and was reminded that it's titled 'ON AND ON'.

Then panic started to set in, but I was saved by Dorothy, and her little dog, too.

  9. You might know this one, a beloved band of my drug-addled teen years (and still much beloved, even though they've broken up). The singer does Christian rock now (Ed Kowalczyk, I think I might have posted one of his songs in a previous blog post...)

  15. Well, Over the Rainbow is taken so I'm going really old and picking Cohan's song " Over There" composed in 1917 when the Americans went into WW1. I would choose James Cagney singing it in the movie Yankee Doodle Dandy

I'm going with the first song that came to my mind:

Over and Over by Dave Clark Five. I used to love this band when I was a teen.
