Before I proceed with the list from yesterday, here's the health update: I still feel like junk. My best-laid plans of getting caught up on the blog ended up sacked out on the couch watching TV and napping. I can't say that I'm sick, but I'm not well either. I'm in that in-between place. I'll either recover or I'll be visiting the doctor. I'm voting for recovery. So, again (and still) my apologies for being less than my best self on this blog. If you want to vote on Battle of the Bands, go back one post to M is for Man.
You guys did great with yesterday's word: Night. Here are the songs you thought of with Night in the title:

Alex: Fly by Night by Rush
Andrea: Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting by Elton John
Debbie the Doglady: Nights in White Satin by The Moody Blues

If you can think of more songs from previous letters and WANT to post
them now, feel free to go back and add them:)
It's a new day and a new letter!
What is the KEYWORD?
You can use variations. In this case, any word with over as a base (lots of possibilities!).
I present to you.... Harder Now That It's Over by Ryan (not Bryan) Adams.
You can comment with a song or embed the video by copy/pasting the code in the search bar. Thanks for playing along!
Special thanks to Arlee Bird and the A to Z team who make this possible!
The thunder woke me so I get to be your first!

ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ92eyxnxmQ
When I originally wrote this post, I used THIS song. I decided to change it out for something not so well known since I think this might give some folks trouble. And look at you picking it up on the second comment. ha!

DeleteI'm first and foremost a Bon Jovi fan, but Daughtry is in my top 5. I love me some Chris... ;)
DeleteSo glad it's not over yet! But...when it's over - loverboy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMLHPnxkOwA

I was like... "Where's Rush?" Then I looked down two comments. There they are!
DeleteGlad I got here early because this one's kinda tough.
ReplyDelete'OVER THE RAINBOW' by Judy Garland and Toto

'Loyal American Underground'
I suspected you might go for this one...;)
Delete'BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER'... DOH! Great song, and I wasn't even close to thinking of it.
DeleteMy first thought was: Oh, I'll do 'OVER AND OVER' by Stephen Bishop. Then I got to YouTube and was reminded that it's titled 'ON AND ON'.
Then panic started to set in, but I was saved by Dorothy, and her little dog, too.

hand over fist- RUSH

So, Alex has been handing me Rush songs nearly every day of the A to Z. Today, he doesn't and then YOU do. Hahahahaha.
Deletemy husband loves Rush like Alex does. Its his most fave band ever!! Therefor, I hear a lot of rush around the house and in car.
Delete"All Over the World" by E.L.O. from the Xanadu Soundtrack.

I didn't see this movie, but if this video is any indicator... it was a trippy 70s movie.
DeleteAh...sorry to put up a kiddie song but I couldn't resist. It was the first thing that came to mind. :)

hahahaha. It works, Rosie!
DeleteYou might know this one, a beloved band of my drug-addled teen years (and still much beloved, even though they've broken up). The singer does Christian rock now (Ed Kowalczyk, I think I might have posted one of his songs in a previous blog post...)
ReplyDeleteLive - "All Over You"
https://youtu.be/hee0aUVnK1U
One of my favorite bands!! Saw them live and saw Ed K last summer. He's amazing! Was doing much of the Live songs too.
DeleteThis was new to me. Thanks!
DeleteWishing you a speedy recovery Robin.
ReplyDeleteThis was the first song I thought of:

Two good ones Mary!
DeleteWell, this one popped right into my head when I saw your post title and unless I am blind, no one has used it yet, so here goes!

Larry
You are NOT blind. It's all yours:)
DeleteWell, Over the Rainbow is taken so I'm going really old and picking Cohan's song " Over There" composed in 1917 when the Americans went into WW1. I would choose James Cagney singing it in the movie Yankee Doodle Dandy
ReplyDeleteI told you that if you started thinking in terms of movies, this would get easier. Voila.
DeleteHope you get over feeling badly soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with the first song that came to my mind:
Over and Over by Dave Clark Five. I used to love this band when I was a teen.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ji1MMXoAVk
New to me. I liked it!
Delete"Over the Isles to America," a Scottish reel I used to play when I played the bagpipes-- it was part of our competition medley. It starts at roughly 1:50 in this medley.

John, you get the star for the *most different* contribution in the name of OVER. Congratulations.
DeleteWow, my computer scrambled everybody's videos the first time! That was bizarre...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, here's mine:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPDEV13DlIs
That has happened to me a couple of times in this A to Z...
DeleteThis song is HOT.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1GfEl8XUc4
Yes, it is...
DeleteI'm brain dead today after finishing edits on my next book. But I enjoyed looking over everyone else's picks.
ReplyDeleteSusan Says
There's an Alice in Chains song that has a refrain of It's over now but I'm not sure what it's called...Good song though!
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGi7YrnZIno
DeleteOK, I was going to pick "Over the River and Through the Woods" but someone already said that one, so here's one I know nobody will pick! :)
ReplyDeletehttps://youtu.be/gzd8utz2tts
BTW, I always knew the song by it's first line "I'm Looking Over My Dead Dog Rover"
DeleteOnce again, I know I'm late, but I want to add my song.
