I IS FOR IF

For each letter of the A to Z, I'm going to give you a KEYWORD. You post in the comments a song with that word in the title. I will give you one to start (along with a video). If you like, you can go to YouTube and embed your video in the comments, so that readers can also listen to your song. No repeats and only post one song so that everyone can participate. If you're just brimming with songs, come back in a few days and lay it on me! If you want to see who else is participating in the A to Z click here.

You guys did great with yesterday's word: Heart. Here are the songs you thought of with Heart in the title:

Michele: Heart of Gold by Neil Young
Mike Spain: Heartbreaker by Led Zeppelin
Jeffrey: The Heart of Rock & Roll by Huey Lewis and the News
Stephen T. McCarthy: Heartattack and Vine by Tom Waits
Mary: Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar
Ericka: Edge of a Broken Heart by Vixen
Andrea: Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin
CW: Happy Heart by Andy Williams
Robyn: Heart of Glass by Blondie
ABFTS: Don't Break My Heart by Spice Girls
Pinku-Sensei: Owner of a Lonely Heart by Yes
Julie: If I Only Had a Heart from The Wizard of Oz
Debbie the Doglady: Heart Full of Soul by The Yardbirds
and Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler
Susan: What Becomes of the Broken Hearted by The Righteous Brothers
Rosey: Queen of Hearts by Juice Newton
Robin (yes, me again): Stop Draggin' My Heart Around by Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty
and This Is How A Heart Breaks by Rob Thomas

If you can think of more songs from previous letters and WANT to post them now, feel free to go back and add them:)

It's a new day and a new letter!

What is the KEYWORD?

I present to you.... Daddy What If by Bobby Bare.

You can comment with a song or embed the video by copy/pasting the link in the search bar. Thanks for playing along!

  1. Oh, good word Robin! I immediately thought of IF by Bread. Love this song. It's from 1971. Those were the days!

    1. Another great song. Did you know that in the original screenplay Molly Ringwold's character ended up with Duckie? But that was rejected by the "previewing audience" so they changed it.

Of course, we would. We'd just eat MORE.

Love this song. I used to karaoke this song regularly with a friend back in the day. Such a fun tune!!!

    1. One, I like this song a lot. I've felt this way so I can relate to the message.

Two, I don't know how I feel about that "outfit." I've always thought she really just wanted to do it naked, and that wasn't acceptable... yet. Of course, on the other hand, I'm tinged with jealousy that anyone could look that good at her age. Or any age.

So, three, I try not to think about it.

    3. It could be Robin, there were many short clips like this done in the 30s and 40s, spotlighting music that the usual radio stations wouldn't play and no TV then. I used to go to a arty films place called Pacific Cinemateque to watch blues and jazz clips (15 - 20 mins) here in Vancouver. Like underground films. . .
