D IS FOR DREAM

For each letter of the A to Z, I'm going to give you a KEYWORD. You post in the comments a song with that word in the title. I will give you one to start (along with a video). If you like, you can go to YouTube and embed your video in the comments, so that readers can also listen to your song. No repeats and only post one song so that everyone can participate. If you're just brimming with songs, come back in a few days and lay it on me! If you want to see who else is participating in the A to Z click here.

You guys did great with yesterday's word: Cry. Here are the songs you thought of with Cry/Cries/Cried/Crying in the title:

Andrea: Cry Baby by Janis Joplin
eViL pOp TaRt: Crying Time by Roy Orbison
Stephen T. McCarthy: Cry For Home by Van Morrison
Alex J. Cavanaugh: Far Cry by Rush
Pinku-Sensei: Big Girls Cry by Sia
Holli: Crying by Roy Orbison and K.D. Lang
Dixie: Cry Me A River by Justin Timberlake
Guilie: Boys Don't Cry by The Cure
Mary: Cry, Cry, Cry by Johnny Cash
Debbie the Doglady: I'll Cry Instead by The Beatles
Libby: Cry Baby by The Honey Sisters
ABFTS: Do I Have To Cry For You by Nick Carter
Melissa Sugar: I'll Cry Instead by The Beatles, Jamie's Crying by Van Halen
and I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry by Hank Williams
Jeffrey: Don't Cry For Me Argentina by Madonna
Michele: Let Her Cry by Hootie and the Blowfish
CW: Cry by Godley and Creme
Marcy: Cry, Baby, Cry by The Beatles and It's My Party and I'll Cry If I Want To
John Holton: Cry Me A River by Julie London
Birgit: Crying by Roy Orbison

If you posted a Cry song and don't see it here, it came in after I called it a night. If you can think of more songs for previous letters and WANT to post them now, feel free to go back and add them:)

WHAT IS THE KEYWORD?

You can use variations. In this case, dreams, dreamed, dreamy, and dreaming are also acceptable.

I present to you....Don't Make Me Dream About You by Chris Isaak.

You can comment with a "dream" song or embed a YouTube video by copy/pasting the code in the search bar. Thanks for playing along!

  1. I had a jumble trying to decide on this one. Not this first to pop into my head, but couldn't shake the Eurythmics once they were there. Sweet dreams...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeMFqkcPYcg

  2. Well, when you've got something that works, stick with it!

Again, I give you Van Morrison - both the studio version and the live version, because I couldn't guess which one you'd like better...

    1. I think your second song is actually called Dream a Little Dream of Me. It was sung by MANY people.

    2. I believe the most famous recording of 'DREAM A LITTLE DREAM OF ME' was by The Mamas & The Papas.

And Ms. Hatch reminded me of 'DREAMBOAT ANNIE' by Heart. That's a good one.

    3. I was thinking The Mamas and The Papas had the most famous version, but I wasn't sure, so I didn't want to say so. As it happens, Cathy just posted a version by Ella and Louis. So, there you go...

    1. The thing that surprised me about Milli Vanilli is that the "real" singers never stepped out of the shadows and picked up the mantle of success. Someone was doing the singing (and they were successful). Maybe they were white or had faces like horses. I don't know, but this was a scandal that had no happy ending.

As always, I appreciate you bringing something to liven things up here. Nothing like a not-band (or not-duo) to shake it all up.
