HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY

Before I get going on today's regularly scheduled post, I have something super exciting to share with you guys. A couple of months ago, I was asked to be a guest blogger for one of my blog buddies while she was on vacation. Crazy, right? This is a total first for me and it totally blew me away. Actually, any time any of you mention my name in a blog ~ out of the blue ~ it takes my breath away, and I sometimes make a gasping or chirping sound. I am fairly certain it is unattractive, so it is a good thing there is no one here to actually witness it. However, it just floors me that anything I might have written in my blog stuck in your head long enough to make you write about it, or even mention it, in your blog. So...that would be floored in a humble, amazed, and totally psyched sort of way.

So, here's the dish on this guest post deal: a couple of months ago I am doing my blog reading and there it is. Lira is going on vacation and has four people she wants to guest post for her and I am one of them. I think I yipped, nearly knocked my laptop off the bed, and almost overturned my drink off my nightstand, and then did a happy dance around my room. Then I came back and adamantly said, "YES!" in her comments. Turns out she is very organized because she wasn't leaving for like... three months. Well, a lot of procrastination can take place between then and now. However, after about a month of that, I decided I should knuckle down and do it. So, it is the most edited thing of mine you will likely ever read. Most of the time I pretty much shoot from the hip, check spelling and grammar, and occasionally do minor editing.

The big day is coming my friends. It is tomorrow. I will be on vacation in California tomorrow (don't I wish), metaphorically speaking, and you will find me at The Struggling Actress, home of Miss Lira. I will post the link again tomorrow. I just wanted to give you a heads up today.

Now, that we got that other business out of the way. It is Thursday peeps! You know what that means. It is that day again. What day is that you ask? How can you have forgotten? Drum roll please. It is HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY, of course! The very best day of the blogging week. It is the precursor to the best day of the work week.

I notice that I actually have some newbies for this event. How exciting! Well, here is what is going down. This is a weekly event. The best (or worst) part is that I am not going to explain why I chose "whatever" footage for each of you. If, you watch your footage and are scratching your head at the end, well that means I didn't do a very good job. However, all is not lost. You can email me at rarichards68@gmail.com and ask me what I was thinking when I chose that particular piece of footage off of youtube and connected it to you. And then I will tell you. Then I will start sending up prayers that I haven't offended the crap out of whoever is on the receiving end of that email....lol. Because, honestly, I will tell you right now... I admire all of you enormously so I really hope that doesn't happen.

Also, this is not an exclusive venture by any means. I hope that you will take the time to watch ALL of the footage because I don't pick bad footage:-) I also hope that you might check out the blog of the person I dedicated the footage to because they are pretty darn awesome. If you haven't figured this out yet... I pick the footage based on something that you've written or something that I've gleaned from your personality. Think on that for a while... If you are having trouble watching the entire video (meaning it is being cut off on one side), click on it a couple of times and it will take you straight over to youtube. If you click on the four squares at the bottom corner of the video, it will enlarge it to fill your screen. The escape key will bring it back to normal size. The back arrow will bring you back to my page. Of course, you will have to deal with this all over again: Lastly, don't forget to turn off my music player at the bottom of the page. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Now, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!!!

  1. Thank you Robin for the dedication. I enjoyed watching all of them. I love this idea and I can see how it takes creative genius to pick up on each persons personallity and find a match. Hey cool about hosting the blog...you'll do a great job. You always do.

I love me some Seinfield. Made me laugh out loud.

  3. Awwwww. Wow. Thanks so much. That really means a lot to me :) I love that song...

Anyway, since you ask, I'm living in Kensington, which is right below Prospect Park and Greenwood Cemetery in about the Center of Brooklyn. I go to school in Manhattan on east 71st, between 3rd and 2nd, and I used to live at the Y on 92nd and Lexington.

  4. I must confess that I'm a total sucker for inspirational 80's music, so the "What a Feeling" song has been replayed like four times already on my computer.

I loved my video - I feel like I'm just joining my own race again and I love the feeling that I'm actually running (although I still feel like I'm playing catch up!)

  9. so I was gonna start with something serious but then I saw Bathwater's comment and I can't stop laughing :)

Okay. SO. As much as I have to admit that Brothers & Sisters and Supernatural videos are really wise choices for me, I have absolutely NO clue about the 1st one. However, I enjoyed it because I like trailer music haha.
