HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY

Drum roll please.

It is Thursday and that means it is HERE'S TO YOU day!  All in all, the best day of the week here on YOUR DAILY DOSE. Why? Because it's a celebration for YOU.

If you don't know what this HERE'S TO YOU stuff is about, let me explain.  This is a weekly event landing typically on Thursdays.  The best (or worst) part is that I am not going to explain why I chose "whatever" footage for each of you. If, you watch your footage and are scratching your head at the end, well that means I didn't do a very good job. However, all is not lost. You can email me at rarichards68@gmail.com and ask me what I was thinking when I chose that particular piece of footage off of youtube and connected it to you. And then I will tell you. Then I will start sending up prayers that I haven't offended the crap out of whoever is on the receiving end of that email....lol. Because, honestly, I will tell you right now... I admire all of you enormously so I really hope that doesn't happen.

Also, this is not an exclusive venture by any means. I hope that you will take the time to watch ALL of the footage because I don't pick bad footage:-) I also hope that you might check out the blog of the person I dedicated the footage to because they are pretty darn awesome. If you haven't figured this out yet... I pick the footage based on something that you've written or something that I've gleaned from your personality. Think on that for a while... If you are having trouble watching the entire video (meaning it is being cut off on one side), click on it a couple of times and it will take you straight over to youtube. If you click on the four squares at the bottom corner of the video, it will enlarge it to fill your screen. The escape key will bring it back to normal size. The back arrow will bring you back to my page.

Now, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!!!

  3. Thanks, Robin! I got mine, no problem! ;)
    Have a Happy Thursday!

  4. I've seen that first commercial a lot during the Olympics.
I've also watched a lot of Olympics...

  5. You picked some good ones. I'm really enjoying the olympics. I wish the media would focus on the games and not the hotel accommodations. What do they expect? It's a recovering communist country, but it's trying. People should take note and maybe socialist country won't be so attractive after all.

  6. Adorable commercial for Susan, and you can never go wrong with a dose of the Beatles. Thanks for more than one dose.

    Be well, Robin.

  8. rosey ~ Yeah, I may post a few more while we are still in the spirit of things!

JJ ~ Yes! I had a feeling you would enjoy yours!

Dianne ~ Yeah, it just fit in perfectly this week:)

Alex ~ I have been enjoying the games this year, too...

Manzi ~ You make an excellent point. Everyone who wants socialism should take a good look at the poverty and living conditions that accompany it.

Robyn ~ Everyone was writing about the Beatles this week... and this is what happens....:D

Arlee ~ Yes, they have been in the blogs a lot!

  9. Oh, I, uh... must have gotten something in my eye watching that first video...

  10. Classic Gravy Train commercial for Susan! Of course, I loved all of the Beatles songs, especially the dedication for JJ! Very touching Olympics video.

  11. I take it you watched the CBS special with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr? That was really cool. I mean, I didn't care about the other artists performing their songs, but it was great seeing them get up and there and play, especially when they played together.

  12. Steven ~ I know. Me too. It must be going around.

Julie ~ Susan and I ended up having commercial comment after my last HERE'S TO YOU, so that is where this came from if you wondered.

Steve ~ Actually I didn't watch it, but a whole bunch of other people did. And then there were a bunch of folks blogging about The Beatles anniversary. Lots of blog talk about The Beatles this week...

  13. I haven't been watching a lot of TV lately so I hadn't seen that first one. Thanks for sharing it.

  15. You really outdid yourself this time! You found a whole slew of perfect video matches. Great job. And wow, I cannot believe you actually found that old commercial! Thanks.

  16. Ugh, silly me. I came by last week and watched a few. Then I didn't have time to finish so thought I'd be back soon to watch more and leave a comment. Ha! Here it is Tuesday and I'm finally just getting back!
Thanks for mine- I have seen and heard it many times and it never gets old. I only wish I knew just how to get people to pay attention. So many are annoyed with those of us who just keep saying it over and over...
Lots of Beatles stuff here this week. Lots of Beatles music to add to my 70's theme party music list!
I wish I was more excited about the Olympics this time around. I know it means so much to those who are in it and I appreciate all their hard work.
That Gravy Train commercial is so sweet. I love how they truly capture how sweet and docile Great Danes really are. I have pictures of my chihuahua with a Great Dane and people just think I must be nuts. Really, I love the idea of sweet innocence that commercial shows.

  17. LD ~ I have really been enjoying The Olympics this year....

Karen ~ You are welcome. If you want to embed something from YouTube, click on Share, and then Embed and a code will (probably) appear. Copy and paste that onto your blog while it is in HTML mode. Some videos are not embeddable... and you will know because it says something "User has disabled the embed feature." Everything else should work easy peasy.

Liza ~ I am just amazed by how much heart all of these athletes have. I also love how much they genuinely like their competitors. They pat each other on the back when someone does well and commiserate when they don't. Truly Feel Good Stuff.

Susan ~ Sometimes the plan just comes together.... and sometimes it doesn't!

Jasmine ~ We all have time issues. No worries. It is ironic that you are not watching The Olympics this year. I decided to DVR the whole thing since I have such difficulty watching anything when it is actually on. So far, it's working out pretty well - if you take into account that I am about a week behind everyone else!
