HERE'S TO YOU FRIDAY

SURPRISE. Drum roll please.  I warned you that it was coming and here it is.  Today is the second installment of the HERE'S TO YOU postings.  I had so many dedications that they simply wouldn't all fit into Thursday.  (Yes, I did post an entirely different set of dedications yesterday, so if you missed it, just go back one blog posting.) I want to give a shout out to my friend, and fellow blogger, Jasmine over at A Yellow Rose Of Texas.  I stole the video for everyone from her page.  It was simply too funny not to share.  HERE'S TO YOU FRIDAY my friends!

This is a weekly event landing typically on Thursdays.  The best (or worst) part is that I am not going to explain why I chose "whatever" footage for each of you. If, you watch your footage and are scratching your head at the end, well that means I didn't do a very good job. However, all is not lost. You can email me at rarichards68@gmail.com and ask me what I was thinking when I chose that particular piece of footage off of youtube and connected it to you. And then I will tell you. Then I will start sending up prayers that I haven't offended the crap out of whoever is on the receiving end of that email....lol. Because, honestly, I will tell you right now... I admire all of you enormously so I really hope that doesn't happen.

Also, this is not an exclusive venture by any means. I hope that you will take the time to watch ALL of the footage because I don't pick bad footage:-) I also hope that you might check out the blog of the person I dedicated the footage to because they are pretty darn awesome. If you haven't figured this out yet... I pick the footage based on something that you've written or something that I've gleaned from your personality. Think on that for a while... If you are having trouble watching the entire video (meaning it is being cut off on one side), click on it a couple of times and it will take you straight over to youtube. If you click on the four squares at the bottom corner of the video, it will enlarge it to fill your screen. The escape key will bring it back to normal size. The back arrow will bring you back to my page.

Now, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!!!

  1. Love these posts! I'm a nutty Beatles fan, and saw every episode of Smallville and actually remember that one.

  3. The WWIII clip is kind of funny until you start thinking how real it is. And another funny thing about it is that many Obama supporters will probably believe it as a real ad and not a parody.

  4. Even this liberal Obama supporter is applauding that first clip. It's very clever and amusing. Sigh. Thank you, Robin, for the dedication. For several minutes, I was lost in a fantasy that I was the woman Billy was getting tongue-tied over. It was glorious. If only men like that (i.e., sexy) would shout "Hey girl" to me, then proceed with a song.

    Have a great weekend.

  5. Hi Robin,

And surprise, I've actually gotten to your posting within a week. That's progress for you. Ah yes, satire and I can imagine some American really will think it's a real campaign.

Of course, I appreciate the thoughts behind your videos. And I appreciate that you have featured a Canadian, a show filmed in Vancouver, Canada, a reference to the NFL, the poor man's CFL :) And a bit of Liverpool to end it with.

    Have a lovely weekend, Robin.

    Gary :)

Yolanda ~ Glad you enjoyed it.

Arlee ~ You could be right...

Robyn ~ Glad you appreciate the first one:) Yeah, we all wish that... instead we get lines like you posted in your adverts.

Gary ~ Now that you mention it, I did cover lots of bases this time, didn't I????

  9. The one with William Shatner was vicious.

  10. Oh, ROBIN, you had some great ones here!

I tried to watch last night but my system wasn't handling it, so I returned this morning. (I guess the decision was made to continue posting the videos right on the page instead of links to 'em, eh? Boo!)

Anyway, the WORLD WAR III spoof was great. I even laughed out loud at one point: "...The War is going to be everywhere: Russia, China, Africa, South America, Cincinnati."

I also liked the one about Gun Control. And the NFL Lip-Reading clip is classic!

    Good work!

  12. This doesn't look like a BOTB. Guess I was supposed to see this eh? thanks.

  13. Susan ~ I hoped you would appreciate yours:)

    LC ~ Yay!

Diane ~ I disagree. Shooting a baby in the face and killing it is vicious. You can read about that here: http://www.cnn.com/2013/03/22/us/georgia-baby-killed/index.html. Protecting yourself by shooting someone wanting to rob you, or worse, is just one of the reasons we are allowed to own guns. Guns only in the hands of the criminals is vicious.

Stephen ~ Yes, I thought the picks for today were pretty great, too. But, I can only use what you guys have first written. That is why it is Here's To YOU.

Shoes ~ Glad you liked them!

farawayeys ~ Yes, I meant to leave you a note about this... see, it all worked out. And my BOTB is now up and running!

  14. Oh Robin, you know me better than you know. You know what I mean?!

I first heard that song on Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show in the L.A. area and I couldn't believe how much it sounded like old school Beastie Boys... and of course I LOVED it!

I'm heading the message, believe me.

I'm so impressed by the variety of stuff you get into these posts. It is amazing. I love how your mind works!
