Battle of the Bands Results and Christmas Fun!

Before I move on, gotta post the results for Battle of the Bands. If you voted later, then you know that this wasn't even close. Piano Guys got 15 votes, Celtic Woman got 4 votes, and Dire Straits got one vote.

Are you scratching your head right now? Yeah, me too. I think someone was messing with me. Not sure what the message was... too much Dire Straits in these battles? Not enough Dire Straits? Too much eggnog? Not to worry. It's all good.

I loved The Piano Guys take on We Three Kings, like the majority of you. I also liked, though not as much, the version by Celtic Woman. So, I would've been okay with the vote no matter how it went down.

I'm singing a duet at the church's Christmas Eve service, so I will try to download that to YouTube and upload it here. Look for it between Christmas and the 1st. On the 1st, the year will begin another installment of Battle of the Bands!!!

I will probably still be posting (fairly) regularly over at TV Junction Function with holiday clips as I find them. I started out that search before I posted this bit. So, I leave you with some Christmas funny that I found... Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

  1. Ah the Piano Guys won. Yea!

As far as that clip goes, oh yeah we need a new holiday at this time of year. And, Jesus and Moses working together...ah, I'm pretty sure that ones been done before.

    Merry Christmas!

  6. FAE ~ For a kid with a Jewish parent and a Christian parent, I think it was pretty darn clever to come up with Chrismukkah to satisfy both of them.

StMc ~ Yeah, we know you like it hot!

Alex ~ Merry Christmas! I actually found a jar to be used specifically for this purpose. I shall report on the progress!

Dixie ~ Yes, lots of good stuff in this (fairly) short post. Hard to believe that duet is only two days off. I'm not sure I'm ready....

J.L. ~ Thanks, J.L. I have been a terrible blog reader. Thanks for hanging with me!

  7. Really like the "Jar of Joy" idea!

And who voted for Dire Straits? LOL! I'll have to go back and look at the comments. I'm pretty sure it wasn't me, although I AM a huge fan and support that random vote. :)

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!!! I posted the results from my last BOTB post on my blog today, and also announced that I won't be posting in the BOTB in 2015 -- I have some other things I want to focus on. But I WILL still be visiting and voting in the posts that you and the other BOTB-ers put up.

    See you in 2015!

  8. Or... or I could fill a jar with all of my swear words and see what colorful new phrases I came up with over the year. No?

Looking forward to that Youtube clip. Have a Merry Christmas!

  9. The notes in a jar sounds fun! I will do that next year! I liked the celtic women better but the piano guys were fun. Have a great Christmas!

  10. Chris ~ I saw your comment over at StMc's place about not participating in the BOTB next year. I know he is disappointed about that, as am I, because you always chose A-list battles AND you knew so much information about the participants. BUT, I'm glad you'll still be blogging and voting and such. Merry Christmas!

ABFTS ~ Yep. You could do that, too. Or even throw in blog ideas. Whatevs. If it gives YOU joy, that's all that counts!!!

Birgit ~ Merry Christmas to you, too:)
