Who is John Galt?

So, what have I been up to?  Well, I have been to the movies.  Yep.

Went with a friend to see Atlas Shrugged II.  Didn't see the first part, but it turns out that it didn't matter.  The second part was excellent and stood on its own.

I was in thrall.  This scene was SO GOOD that I actually shook my fist in the air at the end and cheered.  Yeah, I forgot where I was.  That can happen when something speaks so profoundly to your soul.  I encourage you to watch it and see what your Soul Reaction is.

  1. Can't wait to see this movie! Ayn Rand certainly was a visionary and understood human nature at a level far beyond any of her peers. Hank Reardon represents entrepreneurs and business owners and demonstrates what needs to be done in standing up and speaking out.
The book was great as was The Fountainhead. Take care.

  2. Turns out they are breaking it into three parts.

When I got home I looked up Part I on the IMDB and it turns out that they recast the entire movie for Part II. I don't know why. I didn't see Part I, or even here much about it, so maybe it was because it didn't get much buzz. I can only speculate. However, it did make me want to rent it. Although the acting was so good in Part II that I hope they keep them for Part III.

And I definitely recommend seeing the movie. It was great. Not just this scene. But the whole thing. I can't wait for III.

  3. Have you read The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged? I read them way back in college and LOVED them both! I've read them several times since. I still LOVE them!

  4. I am reading Atlas Shrugged now. I haven't read The Fountainhead, but I probably will once I finish this one.

  5. I've heard some buzz about this movie and it looks like one worth my maybe twice yearly trip to a theater. Love and agree with the lesson shown here.
I am one of those people who is totally willing to give up just about anything to preserve freedom. Without freedom life is not really worth living. Honestly. And I speak from experience.
