HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY
Wowza. I can't believe it's Thursday... again. It happens so often. Like every seven days. Just when I've recovered from the last one... here we are again.
Hahahaha! Just kidding. I LOVE Thursday. And, boy oh boy, this Thursday is HUGE. As in massive. As in you guys wrote so much this week that tickled my YouTube bone, that my "Favorites" are overflowing. All in all, an excellent week it was!
Without further ado, drum roll please.
It is Thursday and that means it is HERE'S TO YOU day! All in all, the best day of the week here on YOUR DAILY DOSE. Why? Because it's a celebration for YOU.
If you don't know what this HERE'S TO YOU stuff is about, let me explain. This is a weekly event landing typically on Thursdays. The best (or worst) part is that I am not going to explain why I chose "whatever" footage for each of you. If, you watch your footage and are scratching your head at the end, well that means I didn't do a very good job. However, all is not lost. You can email me at rarichards68@gmail.com and ask me what I was thinking when I chose that particular piece of footage off of youtube and connected it to you. And then I will tell you. Then I will start sending up prayers that I haven't offended the crap out of whoever is on the receiving end of that email....lol. Because, honestly, I will tell you right now... I admire all of you enormously so I really hope that doesn't happen.
Also, this is not an exclusive venture by any means. I hope that you will take the time to watch ALL of the footage because I don't pick bad footage:-) I also hope that you might check out the blog of the person I dedicated the footage to because they are pretty darn awesome. If you haven't figured this out yet... I pick the footage based on something that you've written or something that I've gleaned from your personality. Think on that for a while... If you are having trouble watching the entire video (meaning it is being cut off on one side), click on it a couple of times and it will take you straight over to youtube. If you click on the four squares at the bottom corner of the video, it will enlarge it to fill your screen. The escape key will bring it back to normal size. The back arrow will bring you back to my page.
Now, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!!!

All right, next person I'm talking to who looks at their phone, I'm whipping out a magazine to hold in front of their face!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Robin. That is how I feel...
Yeah, that Seinfeld one hits the nail on the head. That's right up our alley. Whenever someone does that while talking to me I always think, gee, I'm sure glad I drove out to this bar/restaurant and paid $6 for this beer so I could watch you stare at your phone. Maybe if I Facebook message you we can start a conversation...
ReplyDeleteWell I am not sure what prompted this, but it is one of my favorite episodes...
ReplyDeleteI'm out!
LC
Aw, dang it, Robin, I just watched the first one and now I have to go find some tissues.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of us go into Twitter thinking that lots of other people will read what we have to say, but rarely do many if any people see what we've said on Twitter. I guess there's always that chance of the viral retweet. I'm still waiting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for including me in the fun today.

Alex ~ I can't wait to hear that story!
ReplyDeleteABFTS ~ Maybe if I Facebook message you we can start a conversation.... bwahahaha. I know exactly what you're saying.
DiscConnected ~ You said in the comments that there are no good "throwing your back out" stories. This was me showing you one!
LD ~ Yeah, it did that to me, too.
Oh yeah...I was so focused on the contest, I forgot about poor Mrs. Costanza...
DeleteI saw that Conan episode (with Jerry) when it was on...I love his take on portable devices!
How could you forget about Mrs. Costanza?
DeleteBest lines in that scene: 1) You, take off your socks, your pants, your underwear. We're doing a wash. -Kramer 2) Glamour? -Jerry 3) I didn't know whether to try and keep her from falling or zip? (What did you do?) I zipped up. -George 4) I said, "Because it's there." -George 5) I know I could hold out longer than you. -Jerry 6) You, you'll be out before we get the check (to Kramer). -Jerry 7) We have to do it. It's part of our lifestyle. -Jerry
Seinfeld should be awarded for covering more seemingly relevant, irrelevant topics than anyone. I hadn't seen that interview, really liked it.
ReplyDeleteBe well, Robin, and have a great (almost) weekend.
xoRobyn
ROBIN ~
ReplyDeleteThat Hawaii Five-O clip you posted for Susan, that was a very well directed scene! The writer / director took what could have been a scene that was too "talky" and really got the information across in a creative, visually striking way. Good stuffs that!

I always check first to see how many people you list that I know. It's like a test of how relevant I am. As always, great choices.
ReplyDeleteRobyn ~ For a show that was about nothing, it covered a wide range of material! Happy (almost) weekend to you, too!
ReplyDeleteStMc ~ That was an amazing episode. I cried. Of course, I cry easy. But still....
Briane P ~ Oh dear. Please don't base your relevancy on this post. I will say that the more blogs you read of those featured here, the more (hopefully) the choice makes sense.
Sadly, I fell out of love for Revolution, but I was always a Tim McGraw fan. Good array this week!
ReplyDeleteA double dose of Seinfeld! I really liked his cell phone routine, but nothing compares with the cast of Seinfeld! Very funny!
ReplyDeleteJulie
JJ ~ Oh well. It happens. Yeah, I like Tim, too!
ReplyDeleteJulie ~ Hilarious stuff.
That is so sweet the little girl gave up her hair.
ReplyDeletePeople are always asking me if I would donate mine since it's past my butt now. Sadly, I can't. Grey started coming in so I began covering it up, and they don't take colored hair.
Robin, first of all, I am so touched that you chose me as one of your "Here's to you Thursday" bloggers! And OMG! You chose THE perfect song/video for me. I swear, it brought me to tears. Thank you SO much!! You're a kindhearted soul!
ReplyDeleteMama taught the little one generosity young. I like how her doll also got her hair cut to match her. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like Tim McGraw. He has some good songs and this one makes me smile.
Sia McKye Over Coffee
The little girl in the first video was so sweet!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Emily , beautiful example of generosity ....is donating their hair to their peers.
ReplyDeleteI was very surprised ....the little girl also sacrifices the hair of her doll.
So many of these resonated today...but props to Jerry Seinfeld and his finger swish!
ReplyDeleteDiane ~ I read somewhere that more hair is donated by kids than any other demographic for cancer patients. I think that is amazing!
ReplyDeleteBecky ~ So glad you liked it. I thought of it as soon as I read your post on Carol's site.
Sia ~ That was clever of her uncle... cutting the doll's hair to match!
Sherry ~ :)
Dino ~ Who doesn't want to look like their favorite doll????
Liza ~ Love that. Best reason NOT to get an IPhone!
Thank you. That Hawaii 5-0 clip made me cry. Come to think of it, so did a couple others. Thank goodness you included some funny stuff, too. Once again, great choices!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Hi human, Robin,
ReplyDeleteYikes and once again, my human's poor computer cannot load up properly on your site. This old computer crashed trying to access your blog. It has taken me over half an hour to actually pawst a comment.
Thus, dear human, I'm very sure your videos are pawfect for each person. I just cannot get them to load.
A pawsitive weekend to you.
Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! :)
Susan ~ That episode made me cry. Thus far, it is the only one in that series which has done that to me!
ReplyDeleteGary ~ I am sorry you have such trouble with the Thursday post!
Aww to Emily. That's a sweet video. I love her stickers all over the envelope. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, this is how old I am now, I guess. I was watching the video about Nick and thinking "holy crap, my parents would beat my ass if I was doing flips in the living room and backflips off Mom's couch and cut down trees so I could build jumps over the stumps." He had some very patient, understanding parents!
ReplyDeleteSince I was like the 5th commenter maybe it was unexpected and you missed it! But yes I did see the Twitter clip and the character expressed what a lot of us go into Twitter believing. Now I know better.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for the tribute.

Tossing It Out
I love "Emily's Hair"!!
ReplyDeleteRosey ~ We can learn a lot from the young ones...
ReplyDeleteSteve ~ Yes, he did. It is heartwarming to see people take a leap of faith and support a dream even if they aren't sure that it will "work out." I think it is harder for the down to earth sorts. The people who really don't have the financial means to devote to their "hobbies." This story touches my heart. It has all of the elements: faith in action, perseverance when its hard, and taking advantage of those open doors.
Arlee ~ You are right. I missed your first post. I was probably typing a response (like now) and didn't see it come in. So glad you came back and set me straight!
River ~ It is wonderful.
Aw, lovely Nanites...I need to catch up on the show! Thanks so much for the dedication.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it cool what can happen when a kid has supportive parents without their own agenda?! Letting kids do their thing whether its cutting their hair or doing wild ski tricks is hard and yet so rewarding.
ReplyDeleteYes, this week you have hit it on the head for me for sure! Tim McGraw speaks to my soul. I have noticed that he has been a soundtrack to my life in so many instances- from his 'Refried Dreams' and my time in Mexico to 'Live Like You Were Dying' and 'Angry All The Time', that man just gets me and he doesn't even know me!
