HERE'S TO YOU FRIDAY

Holy tomole. On my last post I told you to expect a HERE'S TO YOU post for today. That is what this is (if the title didn't give it away). So, I went through my old blogs searching for my LAST HERE'S TO YOU post. Can you believe it was last year? That shocked me. 12/11/14 to be precise. AND it was mostly a kiss good-bye to one of my favorite blogs. So, I don't even know when the last "normal" HERE'S TO YOU went live. I'd look it up but I don't want to depress myself more.

I love doing HERE'S TO YOU. I love showing you the love for what you're doing on your blogs. The stuff you share. I really just enjoy the heck out of it. And I think you like it, too. But these posts don't happen if 1) I'm not reading as much, or 2) I'm not getting that vibe that tells me "this video goes with that blog bit." I think the first reason is the primary one that HERE'S TO YOU has slowed down to a crawl.

Since I hope to jump back into writing my novel ferociously and with all-consuming passion, I'm not going to promise these will come more frequently. I'll just continue to do as I've done (post random links on your blogs when I know I don't have enough for a "real" post) and surprise you when I'm actually rollin' with it.

If you don't get how this outpouring of love goes with what you've been doing, email me. I'll tell you. My addy is in the sidebar.

Let's get this party started!!!

This one is for everyone:

This one is for The Beer Boys at A Beer For The Shower: (this is the song I couldn't think of and talked about at length on your blog, but I saw this band in the sidebar while I was on YouTube and was like, "Yes!")

This one is for Optimistic Existentialist at Musings of an Unapologetic Dreamer:

This one is for Stephen T. McCarthy at STMcC Presents Battle of the Bands:

This one is for JJ The Disconnected Writer:

This one is for DiscConnected: (I'll just tell you: this is the song the kids requested when I was driving!)

This one is for Susan at I Think; Therefore, I Yam:

  1. That's a memory-jogger! Yep, we gotta get kids to stop listening to Barney-it seems to me that all that is wrong with our society started with the purple dinosaur generation!

  2. I scrolled past the American Sniper scene the first pass...that was a GREAT film, but depressing, and THAT SCENE....WOW...

Heckuva way to make a living...

  7. Good stuff! Thanks for taking the time to put one of these posts together again. I didn't realize it'd been so long since you did one. Like Kermit said, "Time's fun when you're having fun..."

    Happy weekend!

    1. That stupid Kermit! He SHOULD have said, "Time's fun when you're having FLIES!" (Sheesh. What a dummy.)

  11. The strip poker commercial was hilarious--I can relate.

I guess STMcM will appreciate the BB KIng part, but were you trying to tease him with Bono?

    1. Well... he thinks EVERY U2 song is terrible. I'm hoping this is proof that he's not always as right as thinks he is:) Or as Paul's character on Mad About You would say, "Not saying I was wrong, just less right."

    2. HA! It is pretty optimistic of you to think that perhaps he missed this song, and having now heard it, he will somehow decide he was "less right." StMcC is NOT a man who misses anything nor one who waffles. He considers all, decides, and then holds his position against all odds. It will be interesting to see what he writes! That he is very fond of you is obvious from the comment interplay, so I'm sure he'll be gracious. But it he actually LIKES it, I'll eat my shorts!

  12. Loved the Centrum Silver commercial! Sensational salute to all of the bloggers! The clip from The Good Wife was perfect for Susan's Poly Ticks post!

  13. Centrum Silver was gold! Ha!
I love the shadow theater. I remember seeing that show.

  14. The American Sniper scene was extremely powerful, and like poetry, it says so much with so few words. We could talk about the issues surrounding that scene for months.

As for the commercial, it is funny as hell. Why do they ban great commercials like that while allowing our children to see the other carp that is out there?

  15. Love this! Especially R.E.M. and Blues Traveler - both terrific bands! I got a glimpse of your post about the Moms and online dating...can't wait to come back and read that!

  16. GIRL WONDER ~
I only just NOW discovered this blog bit. I will return when I have my own Internet service (hopefully tomorrow night). Still operating on a Sparks, NV. library computer.

I always hated U2, and I always loved B.B. King.

Thanks for now ruining B.B. King for me. (Ha!)

  17. OK, in all honesty, that was undoubtedly the best that U2 has ever sounded to me.

...Hmmm... I wonder if the participation of a REAL singer and a REAL guitarist (wrapped up in one) had anything to do with upping the quality on this U2 recording.

Get away from the usual bland, pedestrian vocals and pedestrian guitar playing of Bono and Edge - two musical poseurs - and suddenly you might have sumpin'.

Thanks for the shout-out, GIRL WONDER. Sorry I wasn't online to comment at the time this was brand spanking-new.

You gonna be back for the April 1st BOTB?
