A to Z and Love Is In The Air ~ I'm Sorry

Are you participating in the April A to Z Challenge this year? If so, have you chosen your theme? As soon as talk began to circulate about the Linky List going up, my mind churned with ideas, and I am zeroing in on mine! Deciding on the theme is the most difficult part of this enterprise. Well, maybe writing the posts ranks up there, too. And then when April hits visiting all the sites and making the comments AND writing posts. ::scratches head:: Okay, the whole thing is a Freakin' Challenge, hence the name.

If you haven't heard of the A to Z or signed up, follow THIS LINK for the details and the Linky List. The gist of this challenge is posting something every day in April, but Sunday. Last year was my first experience with A to Z. I learned a lot. For instance, having HALF of your posts written when April 1st arrives is NOT going to cut it. In mid-April my life flipped to chaos. Write them ALL before it starts. I also learned when the posts are written ahead of time that it's a lot of Fun. Why?  Because it is all about reading new blogs and meeting new friends. Awesome. Amazing. Wonderful. When your posts aren't written it's none of those things. So, learn from me... do it (you'll thank yourself later), but make the posts short, and write them before it starts!

If you're wondering why I am not on the Linky List yet, well... I MUST commit to my theme before I sign up. It's just my way.

Now, let's get down to the romance!

I am tagging all of these Love Is In The Air (even though the hop is over) and the following is a list of all the posts with links, so that you can watch any of your favorites that you missed.

Back at the beginning of this thing I asked YOU to share what you think are the most romantic moments on the big and small screen. I posted four of them over the weekend. I will still post them if you share in the comments!

Speaking of comments, some of your comments crack me up! Over the weekend I ran all movies and several of you indicated you'd never seen those TV shows. Hahahaha. I realize I must be more clear about what I am posting, since I am doing both.

This is from a TV show.

I am going to confess right here that I love a prime-time soap. I grew up in the days when Dallas, Dynasty, Knot's Landing, and Falcon Crest all were riding the high in the TV ratings.  So, it now won't come as any shock that I caved and watched Gossip Girl on the CW. As far as I was concerned, the only people worth watching on that show were Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester). I had a devil of a time choosing JUST ONE scene for Love Is In The Air.

When you love someone you APOLOGIZE.

Another bit of business for the record... I hate that quote from Love Story by Erich Segal: "Love means never having to say you're sorry." That is just Crap.

Roll the footage, please:

"I'm sorry for losing my temper the night when you told me Louie proposed to you.

I'm sorry for not waiting longer at The Empire State Building.

I'm sorry for treating you like property.

I'm sorry I didn't tell you loved you when I knew I did.

And, most of all, I'm sorry that I gave up on us, and you never did."

********

And now for the movie fans, here is a clip from a Movie.

We are on the apology roll, so this seems fitting.

Roll the footage, please:

That was a very early Heath Ledger movie called 10 Things I Hate About You.

"It's not every day you'll find a girl who'll flash someone to get you out of detention."

Are you participating in the A to Z Challenge? Have you chosen your theme? What aspect of the challenge do you find most difficult? Do you watch any prime-time soaps? Think Erich Segal was right about apologies?  Like the clip from Gossip Girl? 10 Things I Hate About You?

  1. Not apologizing is just crap.
Hope you pick your theme soon so you're not too far down on the list. I have mine and am preparing posts already. And the most difficult thing is keeping up with all the posts and comments.

  2. Oh. The A to Z challenge. I did that 2, 3 years ago and forgot all the rules. I posted on Sundays, I strayed from my topic, I got distracted WITHIN A POST. I was, in short, myself.

You write all your posts in advance? I'm not organized enough to make my lunch the night before work, which is why when I am in charge of making my own lunch, I have a bagful of "Uncrustables" and an old "Nutrisystem" bar plus two sodas. Not to say that's not delicious.

All right. I'm in. But I'm not writing them in advance.

  3. I signed up but haven't figured out my theme yet. And I think love means saying you're sorry a lot. No one is perfect and in a long term relationship there are plenty of times you just have to say 'I'm sorry. I was wrong. I made a mistake.' It's part of being a grown up.

  4. I had so much fun during A-Z last year. But this year I'm unplugging during April. I'll miss everyone, but April is a special month for Husband and me. We plan to enjoy it together this year.

  5. Alex ~ I have a list with A-Z down the page and have been trying to fill in the letters. Egads. Q, V, and Z are currently giving me grief. However, I could end up switching some things around and have OTHER letters left blank.

Briane P ~ Go with what for ya. I felt extreme pressure when I was trying to write and comment on so many posts every day. Glad you decided to A to Z!!!

Susan ~ I agree. It is part of being a grown up. And that is why that Gossip Girl clip is so great. For anyone who watched the show, that is *the moment* when Chuck moves from Kid to Grown-Up.

Carol ~ We will miss you. If you recall, I found you during the A to Z last year, but I understand the need to unplug.

I just left a comment for ya on the 'When Harry Met Sally' / 'The Way We Were' installment.

    1. I got it. I now have my blog set up to moderate comments on any post older than 3 days. That way I SEE THEM.

  7. I had never heard of the AtoZ challenge before now. I'll have to look into this and consider whether I can commit to it or not. I used to blog every day, sometimes twice a day. But these days I struggle to find the time for one every few days. Still, this could be fun.

  8. No A-Z for me. As always, I will cheer from afar!

  9. Your Love Is In The Air posts are turning into an A to Z theme! Sorry I missed The Way We Were. I'll check it out soon. I also loved the prime-time soaps, and Ten Things I Hate About You.

  10. Hi Robin,

I do like the way you intertwine your love in the air type stuff and talk about that ridiculous alphabet challenge.

Personally, I wish the darned thing would go away. Then again, being the official anti A to Z spokesman, I would say that :) My theme is to go hide away during the month of April.

    Gary :)

  11. Steve ~ You and I have both have difficulty with Brevity. That was actually my BIGGEST challenge last year!!! So, if you do it, maybe you will be more successful than I was with that aspect!

Karen ~ There is always next year!

Liza ~ We need those folks, too!

Julie ~ I know. I am not sure everyone else is loving it like I am, though...:(

Gary ~ ..."that ridiculous alphabet challenge".... I am sure that Lee will be thrilled with that assessment!

  12. A to Z is not my thing. A couple years ago, I took the whole month of April off from blogging (since everyone would be too busy AtoZing to come by anyway) and made a really good start on a new WIP.

Two years later, that same book is releasing! In April. When nobody will be paying attention. Figures, huh? (I'm with Gary ...)

  13. I'm doing the A to Z thing again, since last year it gave me a great excuse to do some extra researching. I'm even contemplating signing up my automotive blog for the challenge, but we'll see about that...

  14. Dianne ~ Well, that answers my question about when The Eighth Day is releasing. I couldn't remember. Not everyone will be participating in A to Z, so I am sure that you will find plenty of bloggers to promote the release. You can always do blog interviews and the like scattered after the release month everywhere else. I would love to have you post something here! Let's keep those sales rolling after April has come and GONE.

Steven ~ I didn't know you even had an automotive blog. A to Z is a way to promote neglected blogs. I considered running it on my TV blog, but I don't post there regularly enough to make that a good choice.

  15. Woot! I've chosen my topic for A to Z. It's one that my kids are going to help me with because we all LOVE this topic. ;)

PS, I'm having so much fun watching all your clips!

  16. Oh gosh on the A-Z. I signed up and I am hoping it is much better than last year. I barely kept up not on my postings, but on the reading others blogs and keeping up with the comments back. I had most of my posts prewritten before April 1st and each day just worked on the rest. I'm hoping this year I can find a happy balance between doing the challenge and working.

  17. A to Z? Never heard of it.

    I'm always willing to apologize.

Now off to give Gary (Klahanie) a positive pill.

  18. Charity ~ I know the relief of deciding on your topic! How great that your kids are getting involved!!!!

GG ~ Balance... we are all looking for it.

  19. Difficulty with brevity - Ha ha! Thats a very nice way of putting it. I ramble and rant on and on way longer than anyone wants to read. Maybe I should try this?
