SURPRISE. Drum roll please. It is once again HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY. Yes, you read that correctly. HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY is back on Thursday. For those of you unfamiliar with the once again weekly HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY posts, I bet you're wondering what is going on. Well, peeps, let me give you the skinny on this event...
This is a weekly event landing typically on Thursdays. The best (or worst) part is that I am not going to explain why I chose "whatever" footage for each of you. If, you watch your footage and are scratching your head at the end, well that means I didn't do a very good job. However, all is not lost. You can email me at rarichards68@gmail.com and ask me what I was thinking when I chose that particular piece of footage off of youtube and connected it to you. And then I will tell you. Then I will start sending up prayers that I haven't offended the crap out of whoever is on the receiving end of that email....lol. Because, honestly, I will tell you right now... I admire all of you enormously so I really hope that doesn't happen.
Also, this is not an exclusive venture by any means. I hope that you will take the time to watch ALL of the footage because I don't pick bad footage:-) I also hope that you might check out the blog of the person I dedicated the footage to because they are pretty darn awesome. If you haven't figured this out yet... I pick the footage based on something that you've written or something that I've gleaned from your personality. Think on that for a while... If you are having trouble watching the entire video (meaning it is being cut off on one side), click on it a couple of times and it will take you straight over to youtube. If you click on the four squares at the bottom corner of the video, it will enlarge it to fill your screen. The escape key will bring it back to normal size. The back arrow will bring you back to my page.
Now, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!!!
This one is for everyone:

Imaginary hat? Does that mean no one gets me either? Or no one understands the clones?
ReplyDeleteEllie first tipped her hat to Laurie as a way of saying of thank you. However, she didn't get it and did the opera glove thing. (Ellie then says, "You're so dumb.") So she tried it out on Grayson and he didn't get it either. He responded with the clown nose. She was sure her best friend Jules would get it, but she came back with hook hands. Hahahaha.
DeleteAnd it was ME tipping MY HAT to YOU.
Haha, I love it :) I'm pretty sure mine has to do with my almost clairvoyant ability to pick successful movies....or not :D
ReplyDeleteGreat song, too!
Ding ding ding. I watched the trailer (again) for Top Gun and it wasn't great. It didn't represent the movie well at all. And you also have to factor in the power of an incredible soundtrack. The 80s had MTV working for it. Records, videos, and movies were walking in tandem to help one another reach higher and higher on the success ladder. Anyone who knew how to "work" all three of these mediums had a Moneymaker/Goldmine on their hands. Would Top Gun have been so successful without Danger Zone and You Take My Breath Away (by Berlin)? I honestly don't know. The movie was good. The soundtrack made it great.
Delete"Danger Zone"... I like that song... it's funny... I've read about 'Top Gun'... evidently, if a naval pilot is invited to 'Top Gun'... and they are caught citing ANY line from the movie, they are fined.
ReplyDeleteLMBO!!!
Of course, 'Top Gun' also had that very homo-erotic beach volley ball scene... not that there is anything wrong with that...
Lately, being any where around me is the Danger Zone... a cold that turned into the flu that evolved into my having inflamed vocal cords... I tried to put the fires out with tequila and such, but it just didn''t work.
I guess I could try again tomorrow...
~shoes~
I didn't know that about being fined for citing lines from the movie. You are always a font of knowledge.
DeleteNot that there's anything wrong with that!
I tried that tequila thing in college. It was always 50-50.
Hope you feel better soon!!!
Thanks, Sweetie... I'm working on it!!!

PS: "I feel the need... the need for speed!" HAR!!!
lol! YES. It's a two way street. Great clip.
ReplyDeletewell...I don't know if my last post went through...so if it didn't...I wanted to say: YES! Exactly! Thank you, it was a great clip. It's a two way street.
ReplyDeleteI almost deleted that second comment, but I loved it!!!
DeleteEeeekkkkk... The Geek. I want to scream. You said you were with me. What if?................
ReplyDeleteYou and I would be floating around on a chunk of ice floe somewhere up where his ice melts, probably in his dimwit frozen head, and harmonizing on "You are my sunshine."
There were no alternatives.
Feels like hero time and we need a new one. How about Bob Woodward? He's been around the block almost as many times as I have and you have to learn something each time you pass "go" even if you don't get your hundred dollars. Bob's a bloodhound.
I feel confident that Bob will be fine. He comes from a time when men were men and journalists actually dug for stories. He's being mocked by reporters who are spoonfed their news like fruit loops.
DeleteManzie ~ You are my sunshine. And when anyone is mocking your position... just remember you must win the argument and call them a racist. You heard it here first from the Great Weather Man.
Not even gonna lie. Danger Zone totally made my morning. I feel like when it comes time to produce the movie about my life, it needs to be included in the soundtrack.
ReplyDeleteKenny Loggins rocked it out in the 80s. Every great soundtrack and he was there. I miss that decade...
DeleteRobin: Please do me a big favor when you get a chance. Send me directions to Al Gore's planet so I can blast off in the opposite direction. If they offered me the Kingship of the universe, I would not sell my business to Al Jazeera. Believe it.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what planet that man is living on, JJ. Everything that man says is utter nonsense. And I wouldn't sell anything to Al Jazeera for any amount of money, either. Believe it!
DeleteHi Robin,
ReplyDeleteMy imaginary hat is off to you with this one. And I note a number of my adoring fans, oops, some fellow bloggers I know are on your list and the accompanying videos.
A video for me would probably be one of our smug Prime Minister, David Cameron, laughing at the vulnerable masses and my reaction to the moron. Yes, we have our weirdos here.
Be well and enjoy the weekend.
Gary
Thank you, Gary. I shall give you the imaginary curtsy in response.
DeleteI do try to find something each week for various bloggers in what I am reading... so sooner or later you will find something for you here:)
I find Al Gore to be disturbing. I don't care if he is from my home state of Tennessee. They should exile him to Venezuela. He could take over for Hugo Chavez.

A Faraway View
An A to Z Co-host blog
I always enjoy these posts of yours. But the thing that made my day was the "Don't let anyone EVER dull your sparkle!" AMEN!
ReplyDeleteI just have to add here that Al Gore has always given me the heebie jeebies, even back when he was a sad sack of a VP. Some people do that to me immediately. And guess what? Our current POTUS did that for me as well- way back when I saw him on a talk show in 2005. Sometimes I think I am part dog because I know a weirdo when I sense one. Maybe I just wish I were a dog these days!
ReplyDeleteRob... Have I ever told you that you totally rock!? Well, ya do. Thank you, my friend. I had a visit with my "regular" doc today and it looks like things might finally start shifting in a (hopefully) more positive direction. I don't think it's going to be a walk in the park, mind you, but it's a walk that I'm willing to take. Especially with dear friends like you, encouraging me along the way. I totally agree with Empty Nester... Amen! XOXO
ReplyDeletePam ~ I am happy to make your day any way that I can!
ReplyDeleteJasmine ~ I do think that you are a super sensitive spirit. That works to your benefit and to your detriment. (You know what I mean, right?) In time, I think you will make it work more and more to your benefit because you will figure out how to get those detrimental people out of your life. Completely. Without guilt. You are super. Awesome. Amazing. Never forget it.
Mary ~ Right back at ya. I have missed our talks, but I knew that you were soooo busy. And I figured you needed some time to sort it all out. I have been praying for you. In fact, just last night I prayed that you get some good news and positive shift on this whole thing. And then I get this message. I do believe our bodies are meant to live in a place of wellness. We don't always know how to get there once we hit a place of illness, so sometimes we need guidance. Then we have to look for help to get our bodies back on a healthy track. That is what I want for YOU. And, yes, I will be cheering you on!!!! XOXO
Well, you once again NAILED it - I am obsessed with Mumford and Sons (they're so adorable! And talented! And adorable!) and right now I'm (as you know from my surfing post) in a little bit of a holding pattern so the song I Will Wait is phenomenally PERFECT.
ReplyDeleteThank you, so so so much, for being the thoughtful, intuitive, caring person you are. I am blessed to have you in my life, Robin. :) HUGE HUGS!!
It wasn't so long ago that you couldn't catch up to yourself. The business you are in seems to be Go Go Go followed by lots of Wait Wait Wait. So glad that the song resonated for you!
DeleteI feel the same way about you Traci:) Hugs right back!!!
