HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY
Drum roll please.
It is Thursday and that means it is HERE'S TO YOU day! All in all, the best day of the week here on YOUR DAILY DOSE. Why? Because it's a celebration for YOU.
If you don't know what this HERE'S TO YOU stuff is about, let me explain. This is a weekly event landing typically on Thursdays. The best (or worst) part is that I am not going to explain why I chose "whatever" footage for each of you. If, you watch your footage and are scratching your head at the end, well that means I didn't do a very good job. However, all is not lost. You can email me at rarichards68@gmail.com and ask me what I was thinking when I chose that particular piece of footage off of youtube and connected it to you. And then I will tell you. Then I will start sending up prayers that I haven't offended the crap out of whoever is on the receiving end of that email....lol. Because, honestly, I will tell you right now... I admire all of you enormously so I really hope that doesn't happen.
Also, this is not an exclusive venture by any means. I hope that you will take the time to watch ALL of the footage because I don't pick bad footage:-) I also hope that you might check out the blog of the person I dedicated the footage to because they are pretty darn awesome. If you haven't figured this out yet... I pick the footage based on something that you've written or something that I've gleaned from your personality. Think on that for a while... If you are having trouble watching the entire video (meaning it is being cut off on one side), click on it a couple of times and it will take you straight over to youtube. If you click on the four squares at the bottom corner of the video, it will enlarge it to fill your screen. The escape key will bring it back to normal size. The back arrow will bring you back to my page.
Now, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!!!

That's right, dogs do not judge.
ReplyDeleteMJ will appreciate that after the week she's had.
You're right, I do :)
DeleteHonestly, HOW do you not know why long lines form at gas stations? Either you have Elvis as a guest serviceman, or your pumps are off. It ain't rocket science!
ReplyDeleteLoved that Seinfeld episode....and Stephen-there's nothing wrong with that!
ReplyDeleteROBIN, I don't get it. Why was that Seinfeld clip for me?
ReplyDeleteHa! I'm joking, of course. That was perfect and very funny.
>>..DiscConnected: "...and Stephen - there's nothing wrong with that!"
Robin, you see how my boyfriend talks to me?!!
That one for Brother Martin about the people lined up at the gas station was great, too. Imagine it, for awhile that gas station owner was thinking: Wow! This going to be the greatest day of business I've ever had!

Oh Seinfeld, still funny after all these years. It's amazing how many people assume the same thing about Brandon and me. "Oh, you guys even WRITE together?" Yeah, we've gotten that one before. You know, not that there's anything wrong with that.
ReplyDeleteThat gas station clip was also hilarious. I love the guy with the gold teeth who's like, "Yeahhh, I got the last one before they shut it down!" Now he has more money to spend on that grill. Yeah boiii!
I forgot how funny Seinfeld was. Haven't see that show in years and I laughed out loud at this one. The dog vid was sweet. Made me feel sad that Cody is beginning to show signs of aging. That always reminds me of a dog food ad that was on a while back. There were steep steps leading to a house and it showed a little toddler and a puppy going up the steps. Then a little bigger bog and a young dog bounding up the steps. Then a young man and the older dog, now gray, slowly climbs the stairs. Makes me cry every time.
ReplyDeleteTotally awesome. As usual :)
ReplyDeleteAs a dog owner, I completely agree with the one video!
ReplyDelete"We met in a gym locker room.... I fell on Jerry's head..."Still funny.
ReplyDeleteAlex ~ That dog video chokes me up every time.
ReplyDeleteCW ~ I said something to my mom about this and she said that part of the problem lies in the fact that most people pay at the pump. It is just one more "disconnect" from what is actually going on outside.
LC ~ Right... "my dad is gay." Hahahaha.
Stephen ~ There are so many great lines in that clip that it is hard to pick just one. 1) "We met in gym class... I was trying to climb the ropes... I kept slipping and burning my thighs and finally I slipped and fell on Jerry's head. We've been close ever since." ~George 2) "Not that there's anything wrong with that." ~Jerry 3) "My father's gay." ~George 4) "Look do you wanna have sex right now? Do want to have sex with me right? Come on, come on, let's go!!!" ~George 5) "I don't want to sit there naked all by myself." ~ Kramer
Hahahahaha.
ABFTS ~ You mean you're not gay???? Just kidding!!!!
Manzi ~ I can watch it again and again. It just doesn't get old. I have seen that commercial. It is a tear jerker.
Carol ~ It's a good day:)
Steven ~ Yeah, me too.
Blue ~ Very funny.
We grew up always having a dog, but I married a mailman and he doesn't get a lot of great encounters with them at work, so he doesn't want one at home. :( I miss a dog sometimes. :)
ReplyDeleteGod is ever so merciful because He indeed gave us dogs, even for dragons. God bless the dogs.
ReplyDeleteGreat clips! I had never seen "God Made A Dog" before and this post made me miss "My Name is Earl"
ReplyDeleteAwesome choices :)
Hi there, Ms Robin... these are always SO remarkable!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I like the 'dog' one the most... but I dunno... :o)
Namasté, dear...
~shoes~
Very touching dog video. The narrator sounded so familiar, but I didn't see his name. I also love the scene from Seinfeld. Great choice for Gary's upcoming move!
ReplyDeleteJulie
I especially appreciate the one for Gary too. The tune is catchy, and it's very appropriate. We all love our Khlahanie.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Friday and weekend, Robin.
xoRobyn
interesting "god made a dog"
ReplyDeletecompletion are in agreement when it comes to love or to be loved a dog, there are no age limits, and find an abandoned dog in need, you should treat it as a friend.
but my concept is some different ..at times we forget that the animals don't exist in operation of the man, at times we are us to condition them in our abitat, but they have an existence and a proper value and one theirs independence. At times this means to make them "enslaved."
One different judgment that it excludes ..is blind.
If God made the dog, I think the devil made the cat.
ReplyDeleteYou absolutely could be right! But you have to love a hissing cat who stands up to a growling dog.
Deleterosey ~ I would miss a dog, too! I can't imagine...
ReplyDeleteAl ~ Indeed. God Bless The Dogs. They are the very best of friends!!!
Mark ~ Yes, to the dog video! And it made me want to watch My Name Is Earl again, too!!!
Red Shoes ~ The fact that you are conflicted just means that there is a great selection this time...
Julie ~ Isn't this fun when you understand the reasoning behind the dedications (because you also read that blog)?
Robyn ~ I hope he likes it, too!
Dino ~ Dogs simply don't survive well in this world without a loving person to take care of them. And I don't think people survive as well without them.... The relationship flows both ways.
Diane ~ Hahahahaha. Way back in the day I had some pretty sweet cats, but they sure are different from dogs! Now I am so allergic to cats that I just can't have one in the house.
We were created to be victorious but sometimes you wouldn't know it from what society and the government tells us.

Very tempting post prompt here, Lee ... You always manage to give me new ideas...
DeleteYou do such an outstanding job matching videos with bloggers. I enjoyed all of these, (especially the first one about dogs) but I'm curious about your choice for ol' ferret face... guess I'd better pay his blog a visit to catch up. (and on...)
ReplyDeletelove your dedications. always unique and creative! and a lot of work! sweet!
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend!
Love the dog one! That is so appropriate for me this week!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Lots of great entertainment today. Happy almost the weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Robin!
ReplyDeleteWow, Here's To You Thursday is totally different when your Flash process is killed and you can't see any videos. Ooh, cat throwing up on the floor! This changes my perspective even more!
ReplyDeleteSorry, had to put the cat out before he completed his quest to cough that up, whatever it was.
ReplyDeleteHi Robin,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, my apologies for taking so long to get here. I've been really struggling to keep up. Heck and I know I'm blessed, but I have had so much feedback from my last posting that I haven't even done another posting because of it.
I just wanted to say how thoughtful you always are in your videos. Indeed, I'm going through changes. Changes that I try to see as an adventure into a better life. All we need is to have the bureaucracy leave you alone and me alone. What a wonderful world that would be.
Bless you and all you do. I'm deeply thankful for your insightful, thoughtful comments on my posts.
In peace and hope, your friend,
Gary
I love that first one. How true. And He gave this wonderful creature His own name, spelled backwards.
ReplyDeleteArlee ~ Yes, well. The government and the media are not places anyone should go to work on a better self-image. That is for sure.
ReplyDeleteSusan ~ I do believe it will become clear...
Tara ~ You too!
Sherry ~ Yes, it was perfect for you this week!!!
Susan and Liza ~ You, too!!!
Steve ~ Yikes. I hope everything gets better in your world soon.
Gary ~ I thought of that song even while I was reading the blog. You can dislike the style of music (lots of people do) but the words were right on. Anyone who has been to a dark place and is working to get back (and healthy) are going through Big Changes. Just remember that some changes are good ones and those are worth doing!!!
L.D. ~ Yes, He did. One of His best gifts in my opinion:)
:)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty scatter brained sometime. So the Amy Grant song was just playing and I was just listening then that line jumped out at me.
"You can never stop growing or you'll start to die"
And I was like, Oh yeah!
True words
It's like a variety show over here this week- good stuff!
ReplyDeleteOur friends just got their first puppy and I will have to pass on that cute video. My little Tanner jumped into my lap and tuned right in while I watched it. He wasn't interested in the other videos. True story!
I love Eminem for understanding things that nobody should ever have to understand.
My husband would have totally informed the owner of the gas station that there was a problem with the pricing. I love him and he annoys me for that!
I'm ready to check out the people you did the videos for this week!
Okay, so I got a little carried away scrolling down the comments to get here and post mine. Really appreciate the shout out, Robin, and thoroughly enjoyed the song. Been a while since I heard that one :)
