HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY

SURPRISE. Drum roll please. It is once again HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY.  Once again, I tagged someone twice in this post.  It is beginning to be the Norm rather than the Exception.  Ha!

This is a weekly event landing typically on Thursdays.  The best (or worst) part is that I am not going to explain why I chose "whatever" footage for each of you. If, you watch your footage and are scratching your head at the end, well that means I didn't do a very good job. However, all is not lost. You can email me at rarichards68@gmail.com and ask me what I was thinking when I chose that particular piece of footage off of youtube and connected it to you. And then I will tell you. Then I will start sending up prayers that I haven't offended the crap out of whoever is on the receiving end of that email....lol. Because, honestly, I will tell you right now... I admire all of you enormously so I really hope that doesn't happen.

Also, this is not an exclusive venture by any means. I hope that you will take the time to watch ALL of the footage because I don't pick bad footage:-) I also hope that you might check out the blog of the person I dedicated the footage to because they are pretty darn awesome. If you haven't figured this out yet... I pick the footage based on something that you've written or something that I've gleaned from your personality. Think on that for a while... If you are having trouble watching the entire video (meaning it is being cut off on one side), click on it a couple of times and it will take you straight over to youtube. If you click on the four squares at the bottom corner of the video, it will enlarge it to fill your screen. The escape key will bring it back to normal size. The back arrow will bring you back to my page.

Now, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!!!

  2. Great variety. I loved watching Molly Ringwald go into a mad rage. The one you dedicated to Steven Symes was a fun snippet too.

    Be well, Robin.
Thanks for the weekly dose of entertainment.

  3. You always make me smile with your selections. I had not heard this song but I certainly love it! So my type of song and excellent lyrics. My favorite line has to be "And now running for you instead of running from me..." You outdid yourself this time. Thanks Robin. Also thank you for the wonderful words you left in the Cave. I promise I won't forget them. :D

  4. All good ones! Jeanne Robertson is hilarious, and that part of Ron White's act is one of our favorites.

  5. ROBIN ~
Thank you! I always consider it an honor to get mentioned and “videoed” on ‘Here’s To You Thursday’.

Incidentally, I liked that one you chose for FAE too. (A lot of people have the impression that Country artists are just a bunch of dumb hicks, but they have ALWAYS written some of the most clever lyrics. In fact, overall, I think Country artists are better songwriters than are Rock artists.)

And here’s one for you, Robin, from that “other” ‘Man In Black’ (and a real good friend of Johnny’s)...

    ‘AMERICA’ by “The Outlaw”.

    Thanks again, Robin!

  6. Wow, two mentions! You just need to take that plunge for a once in a lifetime experience, that's for sure!

  7. Happy Thursday on a Friday. At least I think it's Friday. How do people ever keep up on their blogs? I 'm always far behind. Maybe have more time come winter
The stand-up gal was funny. Old age comedy can get a lot of mileage except when one is already there. I begin to laugh but then think.... they are talking about me.....takes a lot of the humor out of it. Just do it fits JJ. As far as Montgomery Gentry, country music just doesn't "do it" for me. I know, even though I have a granddaughter who has a country band, it doesn't change anything. It doesn't mean she will start liking Flamenco just because it's My Thing. We are what we are.
Thank you, dear Robin, for your Thursday vids that always honor and please people. You are the one who is always giving but what can we do for you? We should have an honor Robin day or something to show how much you are appreciated.

  9. Oh gosh. I had to watch Jeanne Robertson twice. Then I made my daughter watch it. Oh such a laugh. And then dear Rory, taking such a leap. And pretty in pink! Had some nice blog reading after this one! Thanks Robin. You have such a talent for picking the clips that touch.

  10. Robin - thought of you when I read this about help for migraines.

Have a headache/migraine? Submerge your feet and hands in hot/warm water and put a bag of frozen peas at the base of your skull. The heat on your extremities pulls the blood from your head relieving some/all of your headache.

  11. It took me a few minutes before I caught the reference. No those aren't my secrets. Well, not exactly. Not that I can remember.

But thanks for thinking of me.

  12. Oh Robin- that Jeanne Robertson clip is too funny! All I can say is that I've had more than enough crazy in Canada & so I will have to add that this idea is an 'oh, hell no!'.

I love Train. That song is great!

Your excuses commercial reminds me of what goes through my head when I see the greeters at the store who have some type of handicap or disability. I always wonder what makes them decide to take a job and not sit at home like so many who have it so much easier.

Nice one from the man in black....

Ron White is such a great guilty pleasure!

  13. I will come back and comment back to all of you individually. Things are CRAZY here. Lightning struck very close to our cable line and took out the cable, internet, and phones. Gah. Anyway, things will normalize here when Tuesday rolls around and Comcast is out to fix everything. Until then, I may not be As Fast As You!!!

  14. Thanks...again. I have always liked that song.

  15. Alex ~ That entire bit cracks me up every time I hear it.

mail4rosey ~ All of her bits kill me.

RawknRobyn ~ I just recently read somewhere that in the original version of this film Molly Ringwald's character ended up with Duckie. However, when they beta tested it, people didn't like it, so they changed the ending. Who knew?

Al ~ I love that song, too. That is a great line. I also really like: "Now down in the heart of a matter-of-fact There's a place I remember and I wanna go back Where I stop getting even and started to change." So glad that anything I wrote in your comments made a (positive) difference:)

Susan ~ A lot of humor this week for sure!

Stephen ~ Glad you liked yours:) I agree about country music lyrics. I will definitely check out that song. Right now our internet is iffy... long story... but soon it will be back to normal.

Manzanita ~ I always love your point of view. I suppose that video is less funny the older you get... I suppose that I am always reading blogs every week with HERE'S TO YOU in the back of my mind. As for honoring me... I feel honored anytime anyone reads and comments!

Liza ~ That Jeanne video got me too. I watched it several times. She is a funny, funny lady. Even when I don't dedicate it to you, I always think of you when I post something Gilmore Girls. Ha!

Myra ~ Thank you for the tip. I will try it. Heck, when you have a bad migraine you will try anything.

Arlee ~ I am glad you got the reference. And I didn't think you'd ever been thrown out of a bar or been profiled for sidewalk driving. But then... you never know...::secrets::

Jasmine ~ Naked "spongee jumping"... double hell no!
Well, you are familiar with my Train obsession...
That commercial is an excellent reminder to do everything you can.
Yes, Johnny Cash and Ron White... different, but awesome in their own ways!

farawayeyes ~ YW. It is pretty great.

  16. What a fabulous video! Thank you for this one. You know the adage: I felt sorry for myself because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet. Enjoy!
