SURPRISE. Drum roll please.  I warned you that it was coming and here it is.  HERE'S TO YOU FRIDAY my friends!

I am also posting the Battle of the Bands results one day early.  Elvis won it with 14 votes.  Lick The Tins only got three, and that was including mine.  Hail to The King!

This is a weekly event landing typically on Thursdays.  The best (or worst) part is that I am not going to explain why I chose "whatever" footage for each of you. If, you watch your footage and are scratching your head at the end, well that means I didn't do a very good job. However, all is not lost. You can email me at and ask me what I was thinking when I chose that particular piece of footage off of youtube and connected it to you. And then I will tell you. Then I will start sending up prayers that I haven't offended the crap out of whoever is on the receiving end of that Because, honestly, I will tell you right now... I admire all of you enormously so I really hope that doesn't happen.

Also, this is not an exclusive venture by any means. I hope that you will take the time to watch ALL of the footage because I don't pick bad footage:-) I also hope that you might check out the blog of the person I dedicated the footage to because they are pretty darn awesome. If you haven't figured this out yet... I pick the footage based on something that you've written or something that I've gleaned from your personality. Think on that for a while... If you are having trouble watching the entire video (meaning it is being cut off on one side), click on it a couple of times and it will take you straight over to youtube. If you click on the four squares at the bottom corner of the video, it will enlarge it to fill your screen. The escape key will bring it back to normal size. The back arrow will bring you back to my page.

Now, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!!!

This one is for everyone:

This one is for Alex at Alex J. Cavanaugh:

This one is for Red Shoes at Red Shoe's Chronicles:

This one is for JJ The Disconnected Writer:

This one is for klahanie:

This one is for Manzanita at Wanna Buy A Duck:

This one is for Stephen T. McCarthy at FERRET-FACED FASCIST FRIENDS:

  1. "Almost Famous"...

    I SO loved that movie...

    Thank you for including me!

    Win a bunch of money!!!

  2. Glad you are enjoying Sin City!

I've never been to that side of the strip-have spent most of my time in the newer area (or scouring the CD and record stores). Next time I wander up, I'll have to check out some of the older sections of town.

  3. Thanks! That ocean front property in Arizona also comes with a bridge. Any takers?
And that was one happy dog!

  4. Jeanne Robertson was pretty funny... "I never saw a Christian change denominations so fast in my life."

Thanks for the photo, ROBIN. I'm not quite sure if I was supposed to be thinking "BIFF'S from 'Back To The Future" or "That damned Golden Gate casino STILL has my money and I want it back in the present!"

Maybe I was supposed to think both. If so... that's what I did.

  5. Elvis as winner comes as no surprise to me. Actually it was no contest. I'm still trying to recover from hearing that other version.

  6. Shoes ~ You did get the connection... roadie right?

LC ~ I will post more pictures in my next post. We are on the Strip now.

Alex ~ You are ever so welcome. I know that you don't really listen to country, but when I read that comment about clones and a bridge in Arizona I immediately thought of this song.

Stephen ~ All of Jeanne's videos are HILARIOUS. That last line in this one just slays me every time. Lucy and Ethel... hahahahaha. I also liked that part when her friend "asks" to pull the lever. "Isn't your arm getting tired???" As for your dedication, I just know how much you love Old Las Vegas and I really thought you would like that picture of The Plaza "back in the day." However, the fact that it made you think of both of the other things works for me too!!!

Arlee ~ I will try to do better next round!

    1. Robin... yes I DID!!! HA!!!

I hope you all are having a great time!!

  7. Look at you- all selfie in Vegas and everything! You look great!

How funny, I was singing your dedication to JJ in my head as I read his blog post from earlier this week.

I love all the positive fun stuff you've got going on around here. Jeanne is just a hoot!

I can't believe you took the time to do the Here's To You post this week!

  8. A song with much deeper meaning than people ponder. I have it, of course, I like Barenaked Ladies, and I understand that one cannot by love. There is much more in this song, exemplified by the Picasso or Garfunkel, for example. To continue eating Kraft food, just more of it says a great deal. This post reminds me of those TV interviews after someone wins the lottery or the HGTV Dream House. Just give me a fly rod and the freedom to use it.

  9. Not too surprised by the outcome of your BOTB.

  10. Robin
What a great picture of you. Thanks for including it. I couldn't keep my toes still while listening to the boogie. Train... akin to chattanooga choo choo.
I always liked George S, even though my favorite wasn't country. Something about his "down-home" voice.
The dog vid was hilarious. Cody acts like that if I'm gone 10 minutes. Haha I bet Gary liked that one.

  11. PS
My new computer is still in the box. I'll go to Bozeman to get it set up as soon as the weather turns a little cooler and I can leave.
    Win lotsa cash

  12. Hi Robin,

Apologies once again. Three thirty on Wednesday morning and I finally get here. I want you to know that Penny and myself, her mere human, appreciated that thoughtful video. Although, Penny was even zippier than that upon my son's return.

Anyway, a little less conversation from me and thank you for all you do.

    Gary :)

  13. She's funny. :)
I love that George Strait song. I saw him in concert years ago w/my sister-in-law. He's still my fave country singer.
