G IS FOR GIRL

For each letter of the A to Z, I'm going to give you a KEYWORD. You post in the comments a song with that word in the title. I will give you one to start (along with a video). If you like, you can go to YouTube and embed your video in the comments, so that readers can also listen to your song. No repeats and only post one song so that everyone can participate. If you're just brimming with songs, come back in a few days and lay it on me! If you want to see who else is participating in the A to Z click here.

You guys did great with yesterday's word: Fire. Here are the songs you thought of with Fire in the title:
Alex J. Cavanaugh: Cold Fire by Rush
Mary Burris: Fire Water Burn by Bloodhound Gang
Ericka: Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon
Pinku-Sensei and Marcy: Light My Fire by The Doors
Mich: Fire on the Mountain by Ed Kowalcyck
Debbie the Doglady: Fire by the Crazy World of Arthur Brown
and Play With Fire by The Rolling Stones
Robyn: Fire and Ice by Pat Benatar
Jeffrey: Fire by Elmer Fudd
ABFTS: Fire It Up by Limp Bizkit
Stephen T. McCarthy: On Fire by Van Halen
Andrea: Strange Fire by The Indigo Girls
Rosey: I'm on Fire by Bruce Springsteen
Dixie: Fire and Rain by James Taylor
CW: Fire Lake by Bob Seger
Michele: The Fire Down Below by Bob Seger
live and learn: Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash
Robin (yes, me again): She On Fire by TRAIN

I spent most of Thursday in the car. I tried to visit as many blogs as I could before my eyelids betrayed me and insisted on closing. I'll do my best to make the rounds this weekend. So, if I've neglected you, please be patient. I'm working on catching up.

If you posted a Fire song and don't see it here, it came in after I called it a night. If you can think of more songs from previous letters and WANT to post them now, feel free to go back and add them:)

It's a new day and a new letter!

What is the KEYWORD?
You can use variations. In this case, girls or even girlfriend.

I present to you.... One Girl Revolution by Superchick.

You can comment with a song using blue or blues or embed the video. Thanks for playing along!

Special thanks to Arlee Bird and the A to Z team who make this possible!

  1. haha, I keep picking videos that can't play on other websites! Trying again. If this doesn't work, I'm giving up. I have two today:

    1. I KNEW someone would use Brown Eyed Girl, but I had no idea it would be you and the first song out of the gate.

Bad Girls. Wow. That was a flash from the past. I haven't heard that song in forever. ::smile::

    2. I love Van Morrison and since I am a brown-eyed girl, it's always been one of my favorite songs. :)

  3. This one was tough. There are no girl song by Rush. (They don't write those kinds of songs.) So I had to go with the only rock song I could find, Sour Girl by Stone Temple Pilots. (I could have picked Girls, Girls, Girls by Motley Crew, but I can't stand that song. My friend and I used to substitute squirrels for girls. Try it - it's funny!)

    1. YES! I've finally picked a word that contains no Rush songs. I WIN I WIN I WIN. Of course, since I'm running this blog I guess that means I buy my own prize. Still, I WIN.

I actually liked this song a lot. You might want to think about trying something non-Rush again. You know, just for variety's sake...;)

As for this here song, Hank shore ain't particular. He likes girls. He REALLY REALLY REALLY likes girls.
