HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY

SURPRISE. Drum roll please. It is once again HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY. Yes, you read that correctly. HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY is back on Thursday.  For those of you unfamiliar with the once again weekly HERE'S TO YOU THURSDAY posts, I bet you're wondering what is going on. Well, peeps, let me give you the skinny on this event...

This is a weekly event landing typically on Thursdays. The best (or worst) part is that I am not going to explain why I chose "whatever" footage for each of you. If, you watch your footage and are scratching your head at the end, well that means I didn't do a very good job. However, all is not lost. You can email me at rarichards68@gmail.com and ask me what I was thinking when I chose that particular piece of footage off of youtube and connected it to you. And then I will tell you. Then I will start sending up prayers that I haven't offended the crap out of whoever is on the receiving end of that email....lol. Because, honestly, I will tell you right now... I admire all of you enormously so I really hope that doesn't happen.

Also, this is not an exclusive venture by any means. I hope that you will take the time to watch ALL of the footage because I don't pick bad footage:-) I also hope that you might check out the blog of the person I dedicated the footage to because they are pretty darn awesome. If you haven't figured this out yet... I pick the footage based on something that you've written or something that I've gleaned from your personality. Think on that for a while... If you are having trouble watching the entire video (meaning it is being cut off on one side), click on it a couple of times and it will take you straight over to youtube. If you click on the four squares at the bottom corner of the video, it will enlarge it to fill your screen. The escape key will bring it back to normal size. The back arrow will bring you back to my page.

Now, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!!!

  1. Dennis Quaid's Cajun accent was...not good. But Ellen Barkin makes it all worth it....

  4. Robin,
WOW.... Life is good. And I'm at the cliff. Oh well. Great Fantastic Job. I love everyone of the movies (not so much the cowboy music... I get branded living in this honkey-tonk state.) You were peeping when I was doing the tango. What a peeper you are. But don't you love it.... the Argentine Tango. That Cheryl is so good and she really has a knack for bringing out the best in the gentleman in a week) When I hear music, I can't sit still..... I have no idea I am old until I happen to glance in a mirror. Dang.
The Big Easy was easily one of my favorites. Haha Love Dennis Q and that smile of his used to send me into orbit. Loved his N.O. accent too. Who didn't? But.... the big butt. I have the movie in old VHS and last summer when Marilyn was staying with me, we started watching it and somehow couldn't finish. Guess it was too dated and we watched, "P.S. I love you, instead.
Princess Bride is delightful too. Klahanie loves make-believe and the wee ones. Good choice.
Oh, the lost ark, too. Bet Mark is crazy about that.
Thank you for your efforts. We appreciate it.
Oh, I had a vivid dream last night that I was still living in Florida. It felt very strange. Did you find my bottle yet? I threw it out by Cocoa Beach. Note inside.

  6. Larry ~ I actually really like Dennis Quaid in this movie... and his accent. Hmmmm. I guess this one is just a matter of opinion. And I love the underlying message of the movie. The whole thing is just perfect. Ellen Barkin was great. Loved her in Sea of Love, too. But that is another movie...

Alex ~ Your suspicions are confirmed... see the comment immediately following yours:)

Mark ~ Well, I didn't "know" that was your favorite scene, but I am glad I nailed it. You Are Welcome.

Manzi ~ As I was cruising through DWTS footage, as soon as I saw this one it *spoke to me* and said your name. I knew it was THE ONE. So there you go. Now you know how I work.
That mirror trick happens to me somtimes, too. Although I will sometimes say things like, "I don't really look my age, do I?" And then I scrutinize for a long time. I am only more confused at the end. So, I don't recommend this activity.
I suggest you get The Big Easy on DVD if you ever see it in a bargain bin. It is a movie worth watching over and over and over again. Hahaha. In college it was in constant rotation in our VCR. We only had about five movies that we watched repeatedly. Very sad.
No, I haven't found your bottle yet.
Maybe your spirit made a return trip to FL for a visit:)

JJ ~ That might be the nicest compliment you have ever given me.

  10. Thanks, Robin. I thank my lucky stars that I 'm alive and well. Great song. How come you knew that one?

  11. Klahanie ~ You are welcome. If I could think of something to rhyme with welcome that was clever, I would rhyme you something back, but alas no. Have a lovely day, sir.

Shoes ~ Always happy to make you smile my friend. And good day to you!

The Blue Grumpster ~ I thought of this song as soon as I read your post about your lovely wife nearly catching afire. That sort of thing always makes us stop and simply appreciate the simple things like breathing in and out. That becomes good enough today.

  12. Hey Robin! Sorry to be late to the party this week. I'm working more hours now and struggling to keep up! However, as soon as I saw the picture, before I played it, I knew just what clip it was. Then I had to spend another few minutes looking for this...so you'd know how spot on you are! You really have a talent at this.

    1. I read your post and commented... albeit, late to the party. Smells like snow indeed.

And I shall take that compliment. Thank you, my lady.
