Hello all. It's Thursday. That means it is time for a HERE'S TO YOU post:)
Before we jump into the fun and frolic, I want to take a moment to remind you to vote for your favorite in Battle of the Bands. This is the last Christmas song, so if you like Christmas tunes be sure to vote. The voting will remain open until Sunday, Dec. 22, when the winner is announced.
I was on vacation last week and didn't post the weekly Thursday post. However, when I went into my saved footage I had one thing there. Hunh. I spent quite a bit of time visiting your old posts in an effort to recall who this footage was meant for... to no avail. I believe the original post was written between Thursday, December 5, and Sunday December 8. I considered just axing it, but then decided to post it and let YOU step forward if you think it was meant for you. So, if it resonates with you, post the link to your post in the comments. Thanks!!!
Another bit of something new on this HERE'S TO YOU is that there will be two videos for Everyone. They are both Christmas-themed and this is the last chance to get them out before the 25th.
This will be the last HERE'S TO YOU post for this year. I will be posting BOTB results on Sunday (along with anything else that is on my mind) and participating in 50 States of Pray on December 24. If you haven't signed up for that, but it sounds like your cup of tea, follow the link back to Mark Koopmans' page and join the Linky List. I think he is still short 9 states. Maybe yours is one of them!!!
If you don't know what this HERE'S TO YOU stuff is about, let me explain. This
is a weekly event landing typically on Thursdays. The best (or worst)
part is that I am not going to explain why I chose "whatever" footage
for each of you. If, you watch your footage and are scratching your head
at the end, well that means I didn't do a very good job. However, all
is not lost. You can email me at rarichards68@gmail.com
and ask me what I was thinking when I chose that particular piece of
footage off of youtube and connected it to you. And then I will tell
you. Then I will start sending up prayers that I haven't offended the
crap out of whoever is on the receiving end of that email....lol.
Because, honestly, I will tell you right now... I admire all of you
enormously so I really hope that doesn't happen.
Also,
this is not an exclusive venture by any means. I hope that you will take
the time to watch ALL of the footage because I don't pick bad
footage:-) I also hope that you might check out the blog of the person I
dedicated the footage to because they are pretty darn awesome. If you
haven't figured this out yet... I pick the footage based on something
that you've written or something that I've gleaned from your
personality. Think on that for a while... If you are having trouble
watching the entire video (meaning it is being cut off on one side),
click on it a couple of times and it will take you straight over to
youtube. If you click on the four squares at the bottom corner of the
video, it will enlarge it to fill your screen. The escape key will bring
it back to normal size. The back arrow will bring you back to my page.
Now, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!!!

Larry
OMG, I'm laughing so hard I can't even get through the Obama one. That's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteBe well, Robin.
Thanks for the ongoing cheer.
xoRobyn
mail4rosey ~ I feel better now because it makes me cry every time.
ReplyDeleteAlex ~ Those bad lip reading vids are hilarious.
Larry ~ <<<---NOW it is officially Thursday. All I can say is that it is nice to be missed!!!
Robyn ~ I know. Funny, funny stuff.
Whew, glad I've got some company w/that one. :)
DeleteSomehow this year the universe has seen fit to transform me from someone who has been searching for so long for things that were just never to be, to someone who gets to experience the absolute joy of being a part in helping to answer some small desires of others. This Christmas is easy, joyous & real. Thank you, Robin. Yes indeed; it is a choice.
ReplyDeleteI love the silent monks video. That was really creative.
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas Group Therapy is hilarious! I also really liked the videos this week. I heard about the silent monks last week, but hadn't gotten the chance to watch it. Thanks for sharing that video and to the funniest was the Back in the U.S.S.R. video!
ReplyDeleteLots of good ones this week. The Santa one make my eyes spring a little leak, too. So did the one you picked for me. I'd never heard that song before, but it was perfect. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteA very Merry Christmas to you and your family. Seeya next year!
Jasmine ~ "Everyone has a part of themselves they don't like, Joan. You carry it around like a weight. The lucky ones realize that when it becomes too heavy you can choose to set it down. That is when you can see things the way they really are." -God, Joan of Arcadia. That may be the very best quote from the entire show. I chose this for you because you are one of the lucky ones. You have realized that all of that garbage was a weight and you chose to set it down. Now you see things the way they really are. It is a night and day experience. Merry Christmas, my friend.
ReplyDeleteDiane ~ It is a good one. I found it on LD's page.
Gossip Girl ~ I am glad you found so much to love. Merry Christmas!
Susan ~ That is awesome that this is the first you are seeing of the Emerson Drive video/song. It really does capture what you wrote in your post. Merry Christmas!!!
I thought I heard my name. Thanks for the head up... but that video was really weird.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Sunshine...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Obama Lip~Reading...
Merry Christmas to you, Sunshine... :-)

I love those silent monks! :-D
ReplyDelete"I don't settle, but I always save," sounds just like my mom! You are always
ReplyDeleteright on target Robin! I also liked the touching song "Moments' for Susan. I tried to comment last night, and the power went off. Sorry I'm so late. The power is back on, but I have to type this on my phone, so I hope there aren't typos. Thanks again Robin!
Julie
I shall keep my comment mercifully short. I thought that was actually Obama singing a speech.
ReplyDeleteAnd like a silent monk. I shall now say anything else but happy holiday, Robin.
Gary :)
I sang the Hallelujah Chorus from seventh grade until I graduated. Love that song and you just gave it even more joy! I can't claim the mystery. Merry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteVery nice "Silent Monks Sing the Hallelujah Chorus" very challenging for those "monks" .. but in a simple and meaningful style
Robin .. the dog, put it between two trees in your "hommepage" .. I can not understand your inspiration ... but that's okay.
Best wishes for this Christmas, but also for your 600 post ... you have "worked" a lot in these three years (lol).
