Vegas Baby!

image found at www.weheartit.com

It is official.  Mom and I are headed for Vegas this fall.  We have booked the plane reservations and room reservations.  We are staying one night at The Plaza (downtown), two nights at The Excalibur, and five nights at The Rio.  The only one that wasn't free was the first one at The Plaza, and it wasn't all that much, so our room cost will be minimal (just the surcharge on the room each night).  Honestly, it doesn't get any better than that.

I am beginning to get excited about the whole thing.  This is the first Vacation that I have had in years.  I consider visiting family vacation, but just not a Vacation.  In fact, I think the last Vacation I had was to Vegas five or six years ago.  Anyway, so psyched.  I will remember to take the camera.  I will remember to take pictures.  It's Vegas Baby!  Let's play a bit of music to get everyone in the mood...

My previous post was TV-related.  I do have a separate blog for all things TV, and I am going to try and keep most TV off this one.  If you want to check in on what is happening on the tube, according to me, you can mosey over to that blog.   It's called TV Junction Function.  Happy Tuesday peeps!

  3. Hehe, Vegas. I hate the drive to California just because we have to fight the Vegas traffic, which literally I find worse than the traffic in L.A. Hope you have fun and keep it in Vegas...

  4. Robin-

I know what you mean about vacation to visit family-it is not the same, and it's been years since I did a proper vacation.

    I hope you enjoy Vegas!

  5. Rebecca ~ It's still a month away, but I will definitely post some pics!

Alex ~ I know. I feel like I am back in the 80s when I say this, but "I love it when a plan comes together." hehehe.

Steven ~ I don't plan to be doing much driving, but I hear ya. Yeah, what happens in Vegas...

Anthony ~ Millions are doubtful. Just breaking even is a SUCCESSFUL trip. hahahaha. However, I never forget my friends:)

LC ~ Sounds like you need a Vacation, too.

  6. I've been out of the loop for a few days (flu) and came by to read your 'Here's to You Thursday post - a little late. So, anyway...have a great vacation. Personally, I don't know what a 'proper vacation' is, since I've tried to remain on vacation most of my life.

  9. Greetings human Robin,

I have heard of this place named Las Vegas. It seems like, despite the odds, a fun place for you humans. I wish you an awesome time when you go there this "fall", which I've been informed means, "Autumn."

Now I must go and ask my human what "peeps" means. I know I have to go for a "peep" and thus, my human friend, I'm going now....

    Pawsitive wishes,

Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! :)

  10. Woo HOO! Sounds amazing! I bet you have a blast. I think it'd be fun to play blackjack there... and to see the shows. Do you watch "Pawn Stars"? If so, maybe you could even stop in there to say howdy...

For our 35th anniversary, my hubby and I thought about going to Vegas to renew our wedding vows with an Elvis impersonator. Just for the cheesy fun of it. But we ended up doing something else. Oh well. Maybe we'll do it for our 50th. (Who SAYS old farts have to be dignified?)

  11. Yay...Las Vegas here you come. I love the sounds of the casinos. They used to be more jingly when it was all coins and you ended up with black fingers.

  12. Oh wow, you'll be in Vegas this fall?! If I'm near my property in Palm Springs, then you would only be 4 hours away! Hmmm...
I'm sure and your Mom will take Vegas by storm! Have a wonderful time!

  13. Sounds like you're excited, hurrah! And how fun that you're going w/your mom!! I'd love that when my daughter is (much) older. ;)

  14. farawayeyes ~ Now that is living... on Vacation for most of your life!

Liza ~ I intend to make the most of it.

Brandon ~ Oh, you should definitely go if it's on your Bucket List.

Penny ~ I am impressed with your knowledge of humans. Peeps = People. Happy Wednesday!

Susan ~ I don't watch Pawn Stars, but I am sure I will have a great time despite that;) Vegas for your 50th sounds like an excellent idea. Who doesn't want to get married by an Elvis impersonator????

Manzanita ~ We are planning on stopping by Slots of Fun just so that we can go Old Style with the coins:)

Jasmine ~ Another example of great minds thinking alike... I hope it works out!!!

  15. Vegas would be a great vacation for my hubby, and I'd go to keep him company, but I'm not one for that kind of atmosphere. We've gone to Reno several times on our anniversary, but never Vegas. I know he'd love too though. I hope it's everything you want it to be, sounds like a fun trip for you and your Mom! Have a great time!

  18. Vegas is fun - with the right attitude. You seem to have it. I have taken several vacations there, mostly on junkets. My favorite Vegas act of all time: Diana Ross.

  19. I'm sure you will find Vegas to be quite interesting. I went many years ago...in the 90's and I must admit it just wasn't my cup of tea. Too many people...but it is a beautiful city....Have fun...look forward to hearing how the trip went.

  20. I know I'm a little late in responding to this post, sorry 'bout that. I've never been to Vegas, but the trip sounds great and I'm sure there will be plenty to blog about unless you are going with the whole "what happens in Vegas" :)
