What Does It Mean?

I will write a post updating everyone on the Train concert. Probably this weekend.

This is one of the many things spinning around in this brain right now. I feel like I am on BRAIN OVERLOAD, quite honestly.

Watch this video. It explains QE3... aka Quantitative Easing.

Okay, someone please explain to me, why isn't anyone stopping this craziness?

  2. Okay, Chris, I have to say this is your first comment that has genuinely SHOCKED me. Someone has had a really bad day. I figure that this information is not NEWS to you since you are largely much more informed than I. So, I was half expecting to get even more schooling that I didn't particularly want (meaning that it would depress the crap out of me). I am going to go out on a limb and disagree with you for the first time. I don't think people care solely about their vaginas. I simply think that they are largely uninformed. And the truth is painful. In fact, it is so painful that their brains refuse to accept it, so they deny it. IT CANNOT BE TRUE. I know that the more I found out the worse I feel. The worse my migraines get. I am having dreams of the entire world imploding. Literally end of the world stuff. I wake up sweating. Every night. And when faced with that or watching reruns of Friends and just wishing it all away... I really would rather just watch reruns of Friends and wish it all away. It doesn't make me a bad person. I know it would make my migraines better. But it doesn't do anything to stop the dreams because I know what is real and what isn't. I just wish I didn't. Why? Because I can't do anything about QE3. I can't stop the government from essentially counterfeiting money. All I can do is pull all of my money out of the stock market and put it into treasury bonds. At least, that is all I have thought of for now. I was hoping someone else would come up with something else far more brilliant... hence me throwing up the video. Looking for solutions, peeps. Looking for solutions...

  3. I think we are going to have to come to terms with the fact that America is in decline and it's getting worse. The liberals are hard at work creating their permanent majority which I believe they will get done. They want the economy to crash so they can take it over. They want everyone to either be working for the government or dependent on the government and that will create their permanent majority of people who will vote them in in order to keep the work or the handouts coming. Have you read Ayn Rand - Atlas Shrugged? Great book. I will try to find the YouTube video over a speech from The John Birch society back in the 1970's that is relevant. I think you are taking too much on your shoulders. Accept what's happening but do your best to make your own life as good as you can. We cannot save the world. We are still free although I think that will end because of our complacency. Be the best version of yourself you can be, help others as much as you can, and try to be content. There is no need for headaches. Are you a believer? You don't have to carry your burdens alone. Am now a follower. Take care.

  5. Robin... I have no faith in the ability of this current administration to be able to do anything to right this economy. I wasn't a fan of GWB, but imho, Obama has been as bad if not worse than GWB.

The U.S. is rapidly on course to be just like Greece, Spain, and soon, France... broke. I do worry about what will happen when we are unable to pay off those countries to whom we owe the most money... the major one being China.

    We are so screwed...

  6. Thanks everyone for the comments. And the video Downsizers. I am trying to focus on proactive, doable things and not worrying. Worrying simply does not help. So, if anyone has proactive, doable advice I am interested in hearing it:-)

  7. I think you have as much of a handle on QE3 as anyone can get at this point. And yes, I am of course worried myself as well. However, unlike the other commenters here I do NOT think that we are just doomed to having to accept all this crap. I truly do believe in American exceptionalism and know that even if we have to go through another term or more of this garbage, there will be a breaking point in which we finally figure out it is time to change and fight back. As Americans, we got our start by seeking freedom and I believe we will never truly give up on that.
I work at this personally by talking to neighbors and friends with an understanding yet firm grip on how I believe these types of policies are stealing our freedoms. Most people are capable of a little common sense if we allow them to find their way down that path without getting too preachy. I have even had some success is gently guiding people who are accepting government benefits into realizing how much better their lives can be if they take care of themselves instead. It's a slow process, but not impossible. With knowledge comes power. I share the knowledge and pray.
BTW, I think I get what Christine was saying. I think she might be referring to the overall emphasis of the DNC events- it seemed they were only about protecting our right to kill unborn human beings. And frankly it made me so sick that I can see how one might think that people only care about their vaginas...
