HERE'S TO YOU FRIDAY

SURPRISE. Drum roll please. I present to you HERE'S TO YOU FRIDAY. With love. I bet you are thinking that this post is NEVER going to land on a Thursday again.  Or be weekly again.  It might not.  I am having difficulty getting my stuff together.  I can only say that I hope *someday* that it becomes a weekly Thursday post.  Until then, it is just a surprise post.  And we are all just grateful.  Or I hope we are.  Anyway, here it is.  XOXOXO.

Here is the recap of what is going on...

This used to be a weekly event landing typically on Thursdays. It is my hope that it will be a weekly event again some day... The best (or worst) part is that I am not going to explain why I chose "whatever" footage for each of you. If, you watch your footage and are scratching your head at the end, well that means I didn't do a very good job. However, all is not lost. You can email me at rarichards68@gmail.com and ask me what I was thinking when I chose that particular piece of footage off of youtube and connected it to you. And then I will tell you. Then I will start sending up prayers that I haven't offended the crap out of whoever is on the receiving end of that email....lol. Because, honestly, I will tell you right now... I admire all of you enormously so I really hope that doesn't happen.

Also, this is not an exclusive venture by any means. I hope that you will take the time to watch ALL of the footage because I don't pick bad footage:-) I also hope that you might check out the blog of the person I dedicated the footage to because they are pretty darn awesome. If you haven't figured this out yet... I pick the footage based on something that you've written or something that I've gleaned from your personality. Think on that for a while... If you are having trouble watching the entire video (meaning it is being cut off on one side), click on it a couple of times and it will take you straight over to youtube. If you click on the four squares at the bottom corner of the video, it will enlarge it to fill your screen. The escape key will bring it back to normal size. The back arrow will bring you back to my page.

Now, let's get this PARTY STARTED!!!!

  2. Emotions, weight, and food/eating. Also loved the first video for all of us about people never really changing and making decisions. You spent a lot of time on this. I appreciate that I was included. I am thinking about expanding on that first video on my blog (giving you credit of course). Take care.

    1. I hate to tell you that I was thinking differently than you but... well here goes. The first video is about making a decision. It just leaves you hanging with what decision he makes. If you watch the show, you get a hint of what he did later in the season. It is never stated precisely, but you think back to this show and get that "aha" moment. He came up with an "outside the box" solution that worked for everyone. Well, I would say the serial killer guy probably didn't like it so much, but he isn't in a position to hurt people anymore. And John doesn't have to eyeball him all the time, so it works:-)

Now your video was in response to your blog on expectations/standards. All of those arguments were about expectations or standards not being met. If you watch it again, you will see that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE FIGHTS was about someone being mad because their expectations were not met. Even the very understated conversation between Lorelei and her dad about Luke where she replies, "He has a kid," was a very sad commentary about expectations going down the drain. That relationship started out so well. They had been circling each other for years as friends, chemistry had been high, they finally went out, and it was going SO WELL, and then he finds out he has this teenager he never knew about. Bam. And now he is keeping secrets, not talking to her, shutting her out, and she feels this relationship circling the drain. Expectations are crumbling by the minute. You can feel in those four words: "He has a kid." No fight, no drama, but man it hurts my stomach.

They only had one scene of solidarity. That was when they united over Rory. She is the person that brings them together. Mitchum, a newspaper mogul, and Rory's boyfriend's father, told her that she didn't "have it" to achieve her lifelong dream of being a journalist. Just a crushing thing to say to her. So, Emily crushed back on Mitchum's wife #? by saying those horrible things she said. Was it bullying? Sure it was. It is one thing for a grown man to bully a young girl. It is a different thing for a grown woman to bully another grown woman. Both are mean. But they are in different classes. Not saying it was right, but I am sure it felt gratifying, which is what you saw. That man shredded their granddaughter. They did some shredding of their own. Again, we are coming back to standards. In order to properly play this game, Mitchum started it by shredding it Rory, they would have chosen to shred one of his children. Instead, they went for adult game who could take it. Not saying it is right, per se, but if you are going to seek payback, get it from the more guilty.

    2. Wow. I had never watched either of those shows so had no background. I am not a TV watcher or movie goer. I guess I just picked up on the food part (go figure). Thanks for your lengthy explanation. I can tell you evaluate things pretty deeply and feel things that get past me. Take care.

  6. Had to take the time to really take in all this stuff before I commented...
Does anybody really change? Not really. And this from someone who has worked her life over pretty good as of late! I see it as we are all born with certain potential. What we do with that potential is our choice. But we really never change what is innate inside us. There is good and bad and at anytime the scales can shift. It is up to each of us...

fingers or thumbs...it's all in how you use them...

We are battling indeed and the war is never really over. We soldier on, even if it's only inside our heads and we can't let it out. It seeps out of our pores and we can't disguise it- those of us who truly care about humanity.

Thanks for doing this. It is always fun and enlightening!

    1. I love how you spend as much time thinking about my choices as I do!

As for the one I chose for you... if you haven't watched that series, you would love it. It only lasted one season and then was so beloved that it came to the big screen for a grand finale. I think my favorite line from the whole shebang is Mal's: "it might have been the losing side, but I am not convinced it was the wrong one."

  9. I'm sorry I've been away... it's been a toss-up between being busy at school, and just not being in a good place... blah...

    I've always loved 'Grey's Anatomy'...

You may have to explain this to me, Robin... I'm just not understanding the connection. Normally, I do.

It's just not been a good few weeks here...

    1. On your "Blah" blog I suggested that you listen to this song specifically to feel better. And I ended my comment to you with lyrics from this song. Love love me. Love love me. You see everyone's going to love today love today love today. That was my recipe for feeling better in the morning. I wake up and say, "I love today." Is it coming back to you now?
